Rubbish. My daughter worked for Virgin Management before she had her children.

I know a couple of people who have worked for virgin and they reckon he looks after them very well.

You sound bitter. Did they not give you a job?

Chin up - plenty more toilets need cleaning.

Great. Not sure what that has to do with anything but still great.

Right, but you never said that so it didn't really make much sense.

I don't know why I should explain my post but I said his statement about badly paid employees was rubbish and followed it up with the reason I had that knowledge. Ok?

But his post said that they paid badly. You then said rubbish and told us what your daughters job was. That doesn't explain why you thought what he said was rubbish. Ok?

To add some perspective here, this exact situation happened in Ireland some years back, after 6 months of effectively no revenue from Sky One Ireland (which they had to keep providing to the small cable firms), Sky gave in. Its the same in the UK now, except its not IE£1.5M a year they're losing, its close to STG£90M - and they're not even saving the half a million quid or whatever a year it costs to make the special cable versions of Sky One and Sky News, cause they're still on cable in a small part of the UK: http://www.wightcablenorth.com/

viewership figures for Sky One have fallen 25% since last week - its no longer one of the top ten channels in the UK; and yet the virgin->sky converts are 'surprisingly low' apparently...

would that not just be because it takes time for the people who are waiting to see what Virgin are going to do or dealing with Virgin before converting to Sky and then having to wait for installation? Would say its a bit early to say who is winning.

24 was good last night tho

Well for those of us that understand subtly and don't need things spelling out for us, it did make sense..

My wife, nearly on the blob (!), decided to phone the bastards tonight to complain about the loss of pick of the week. Finally got through to some ignorant Welsh git "doesn't know why they are no longer appearing" but will send some signals to the box tonight to see if that does the trick. Suspect the signals will include two fingers, one finger or a hand shandy. Still though it was a good way for my wife to release some PMT. Thank you Virgin Media. :)

But I still want Sky Sports News back. I miss it.

Hmmmm, not necasarily so true, I know a few people that were treated awfully by him, directly as well, but on the whole not the worst company to work for in the world.

I havent got time for either of them, but what makes me laugh is people falling for the Mr Branson "the people's millionaire" bollocks.

Seems to be a common thread doesn't there ?

Branson v British Airways
Branson v Coke
Branson v Sky
Branson v The Shit Railways

.. and was exactly happened to that Concorde he was trying to buy ?

Will I be able to book tickets to the moon via the Virgin website ?
