Rest your faithful souls that there are not two teams in Derby lest we be quoted as having the Derby Derby!

Surely that would be a Derby Derby derby ?

in the same way as we talk about a Walsall Carlsile derby, Southampton Pompey derby etc

Phil is correct, Living in Maidenhead I can confirm that Wycombe and Reading are very close with a short trip down the A404(M) (passed my mums back garden) and onto the M4 at jct8/9, it is then 3 junctions before turning off at the Intimidatind Madjeiski

Erm, if you travel 3 junstions and leave the M4 you will in fact end up in Theale and/or Calcot. If you want to go to the intimidating atmosphere that is the madjeski then you need to leave at Junction 11. That's only 2 junctions.

The other thing to consider is that High Wycombe is not a fixed place - after all they are called Wycombe Wanderers.

One has to assume therefore that their derbies could change as they may be playing at 'home' in High Wycombe one week and just outside Ramsgate the next.

I never realised that Wandering was a prerequisite of the Wanderers moniker, does the same hold true for Rovers? could one arrive at Prenton Park for a Tranmere home fixtue to find they had Roved to Bexhill?

I'd say that 'M4 derby' is an entirely suitable DESCRIPTIVE moniker for a game which promises such boredom. Personally, I get so bored driving on the M4 it's all I can do to stop my brain dribbling out of my ears - presumably this is what the commentator meant?

Don't be stupid. Teams called 'Rovers' were formed by dog lovers. Other names: Sheffield Wednesday were formed by people who had Wednesday off, and Crewe Alexandra were formed by a group of lads who'd all shagged a girl called Alexandra.

(Sorry, gone off topic a bit here)
