Sky+ box Problem..

I have just got a sky+ box installed (about 2 weeks ago) and i have just noticed that for the first 30 minutes that it is on, it makes a high sort of shriek? I have checked all the connections, which are fine, so i am assuming it is faulty?

Anyone know any more on this?

My mum & Dads done this occasionally. All I did was unplug it completely and leave it for 10 minutes (it might take more than one try)

The turn it off & on again remedy does actually work on this. That said, it obviously shouldn't be doing this so I would contact them for a new one seeing as you've only had it 2 weeks.

tis true what Chez says, most problems involving a sky box are genuinely sorted by turning it off for a few minutes then back on again!

Turn the box off at the mains, when you turn it back on hold the back up button on the front for a few seconds, this should do a restore. If that doesn't cure it i would phone Sky for another box.

Should disappear after the tennis is finished.

If it is still making this noise after a reset you'll need to contact Sky as your box is knackered and needs replacing.
