Skiing in Norway

I know it is very early to be thinking about next year Ski hols but, has anyone here skied in Norway? Any suggestions or comments on what is was like...skiing, apres ski, food etc....

Ive never been to any ski resorts but I can say when ever Ive been to Norway I am always astounded as to how expensive it is. £12 for 75cl of beer has to be somewhat of a record, thank the lord for expensis

Norway is a stunning place, I'd love to go there again, I have a customer out there who only gets out in his car 3 months of the year because its nearly always snowed in

Norway is fabulous. We have been a few times. We were just there last July for Leeds' pre-season in Stavanger and Hausgeund so no skiing then, but we had an awesome time.

£11 for a 6" sub at Subway and drink.

£21 for pizza and beer though so it's not cheap.

We have skiied at Hemsedal and it was wonderful. We've been three times - January, March and the end of April and the snow has been good at all those times. There are slopes for everyone from tiny kids to the experience Olympic skiers.

I've cycled up this ( 1986) in the middle of July, its amazing . . .and knackering . . .

there was snow at the top then as well

fortunately not, strangely enough I don't recall the waitress

obviously being a teenager I wasn't paying proper attention

I do remember we were deliberating over the purchase of some antlers to mount on the front of our bikes though

Plenty of skiing. The last two times we went we had the kids with us so we were fairly tied to the smaller, children friendly areas but the time before we went all over the place. It was never horribly busy either while we were there.

We've always stayed down in the village. We've stayed once at Hemsetunant (I am sure that is spelt wrong) and twice at Norlandia. The first is a group of holiday apartments and the second a hotel. The friends we go with always hire a cabin though, just on the outskirts of the village.

There are lots of restaurants and bars, a few shops and there are free ski buses from the village to take you to the slopes.
