And what would the point be if you knew he wouldn't take it?

I guess they can't be bothered to **** around on the keeper front. So just get rid of PIG now rather than spending all summer trying to persuade him to stay and then still watch him go.

Interesting strategy. Still wouldn't be surprised if he ended up signing after failing to get a premiership move.

Wide of the mark.

Kusczcak wanted to stay. He and his family love it in Brighton, and are a bit gutted that he is not being offered a new deal. (all first hand knowledge via Stumpy Tim)

Personally, I think its the right decision. Better value to be had elsewhere.

That can't be true unless they have a good first choice keeper already lined up.

Kush hasn't been as good as last season but still the best keeper we have had in a long time.

Way out west
Kemy has a year to go on a two year contract.

The retained list is a FL requirement which has to be done this week.

I am sure that Andrews and Ward would be quite happy to return next season on reasonable deals if any transfer costs are also.

Casper has probably been offered a one year deal in case we are unable to sign someone decent before August 9.

Surprised about Hoskins, Disappointed to see Koosh go........but, really pleased about Bruno though, my favourite Player last season

I'm not, we shouldn't have given him another contract last year really. He hasn't played since being "fit" these last few weeks, I'm sure another forward (or 2) will come in during the summer.

I think you've missed the point. We can still offer one, that's all he was saying.

I'm not sure that was his point. I read it as if we offer him a deal he cannot leave for nothing, as per a player under 24. That is how it reads to me anyway.

At the end of my tether
Surprised that there is not more shock/horror over the release of T K the goalie whose name I cannot spell..
Given his popularity on this board , I recall him being called our best ever, although I never shared that opinion.

Sorry about the departure of Orlandi..a very skilful player, perhaps it was a wages decision.

Does this mean that we do not pay the wages to get class players? Does the reduction in the Spanish contingent suggest that we are looking at English managers?

FWIW, I was given a 100%, cast iron guarantee that PIG would be here next season by someone who know's him and attends Church with him and family.

Guess it never occurred to him he wouldn't be offered a new contract.

Every one of the decisions will have been made along the lines of VALUE.

1. Are we getting good value from this player?

2. Could we get better value elsewhere?

In Kuszcak's case we'll find a keeper of simialr ability for less money. Orlandi failed to provide value as he cannot stay fit, as per Hoskins.

I feel completely indifferent to Kuszczak going. First season, he was fantastic, up there with the best in this league. This time, he's not convinced me. Alright, only one glaring error (Forest away), but there's been a few goals where I wonder if he might have done better. And significantly, his distribution this season has been appalling. Far too many wasted clearances hoofed up towards poor Ulloa, or, more often, to nobody in a blue & white shirt, plenty going straight into touch, and even his short passes have frequently put our defenders under pressure.

He's a really good keeper and maybe he could have got back to the standards set previously, but presumably he's a high earner and I'd like to think we'll be able to pick up a good value decent keeper to replace him.

Okay yes I see what you mean, which is obviously nonsense. He can leave for nothing regardless. I'm just surprised we haven't offered something, even if it was a derisery offer like we made to Murray under similar circumstances. Maybe they have learned from this.

Please could someone start a Thread to show the players that we actually have left on the books.

Can we actually field a team at the moment ?

I know what you mean. Up until the last third of the season I thought he was the best goalkeeper we have had since Kuipers, but suddenly he started looking a bit average as though he didn't want to be here. I wondered if he had already agreed to sign for someone else. Since then the odd error creapt in as well.

Would like to see our young keeper on the bench next season though, not Ankergren.

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
I am literally amazed at the amount of people who think offering/keeping Hoskins would be a good idea.
