Is it PotG?
Thrifty non-licker
Excuse my ignorance, but which 'vanity' projects might these be?and so? Why shouldn’t they pay it? If they were that short of money then rein in some of the vanity projects they invest in.

there are many. I have had business dealings with private sector over many many years. I won’t name specifics of projects but rest assured there are many cases.Excuse my ignorance, but which 'vanity' projects might these be?
Which shows how out of touch they are as I suspect many private school pupils these days aren't white middle class privilege
First paragraph, vague non-answering.there are many. I have had business dealings with private sector over many many years. I won’t name specifics of projects but rest assured there are many cases.
But even that aside, i asked the question earlier as to why should they be able to not pay vat on heating and such like but little old granny in her cold flat does. What’s you’re thoughts on things such as that?
such a peculiar argument, saying quality of state education depends on a certain type of parent. wouldnt that sort of parent send their kids to the "good" school, so others wouldn't benefit? Whitehawk Comprehensive is hardly going to have the same parents as Hove Community College. The more of those sharp elbowed parents that are forced into the State system the better it will be
Its not non answering at all, but I’m not going to post confidential matters on a forum to satisfy you and your snide little comments.First paragraph, vague non-answering.
Second, a little better, whataboutery.
What 'vanity' projects are the most relevant in this case?
Well forgive my cynicism but there is more swervery in that than an MP on the rack. Its not non answering at all, but I’m not going to post confidential matters on a forum to satisfy you and your snide little comments.
Nothing to do with whataboutery at all. I’m just asking you your thoughts on a matter I asked earlier. Its more a case that you only want to answer or make remark on the buts that suit you.
Its not a case of any one project being particularly relevant in the case it’s an over arching principle.
This is perhaps why @BLOCK F thinks he dislikes labour.
NOBODY on this thread has proposed banning private schools! So you are arguing against a made up argument.
I am a labour party member. I am all in favour of private schools.
But they are not charities (even if the tories have allowed them charitable status) and they should therefore pay tax.
oh whatever, grow up and understand why Im not going to put out details about specific establishments and their budgetary spends. If you don’t like that tough, you can be as cynical as makes you feel happy with yourself. If you can’t mange to get your head around that never mind.Well forgive my cynicism but there is more swervery in that than an MP on the rack.
Vacuous rhetoric then.oh whatever, grow up and understand why Im not going to put out details about specific establishments and their budgetary spends. I conclude you’re incapable of understanding confidentiality.Vacuous rhetoric then.
they are charities, and get a nice tax claim on fees. which is what was upsetting so many. but as i recall changing legislation for this is too difficult, would require some time, so they've plumped for this VAT change which can be done in a Budget and rolled out near immediatly. This is perhaps why @BLOCK F thinks he dislikes labour.

Conclude what you want, the contract you signed 'A mex eyecan' will be binding and they'll be after youI conclude you’re incapable of understanding confidentiality.

You must clearly have amnesia, labour left a note in the treasury draw advising there is no more money when they last left office, having trashed the economyI don't think it's "spitefulness", it's just a quick win in getting cash in in an environment where the Tories have spent the last few years trashing the economy.
Which shows how out of touch they are as I suspect many private school pupils these days aren't white middle class privilege
Not prepared to admit Labour did exactly what Conservatives did to the economy, comrade?I'm pretty sure they know exactly who goes to private school. It's just a quick win and popular with the electorate as seen in the polls.
It also answers the question - how are you going to pay for that ?
On balance quite a smart policy because public mood has somewhat shifted against privately educated morons leading the country.
There is always collateral damage with any popular policy. One persons tax on private schools is another persons bedroom tax, You just need to ensure the winners are higher in number than the losers. That's how policy wins you elections and I'm struggling to see how this policy will lose them votes...
.. comrade.
