Yes. And best he say little.

As mentioned a thousand times, any policy clarity will result in the tories and their media chums gaslighting them, like they always do.

Some people seem to forget that winning the election is about winning the election, and not about revealing detailed plans to people who have never and would never vote Labour, so these people can use the material to help their campaign of lies and smears.

Your pottys of this world are as daft as the manager of a shit football team complaining that their much better opposition have refused to announce their game plan. Tough titty. :lolol:

ps apologies for posting a serious reply to you comedy post
Same old nonsense from you ! …” not about revealing detailed plans” ??
the Labour manifesto is for the people- the voters… if the policies are worthwhile they will stand any amount of scrutiny.

General attitude seems to be ‘we’ve already won so we don’t have to do anything’

Is that what we want from our politicians?

Still your post was not the winner in the lowering expectations stakes today …someone just said it will be 2 terms before we see things improve! Easy life that eh? 10 years of not improving anything and able to blame it on the government from the last decade😃

I found it quite comedic that you are happy to vote for someone to lead our country without them actually telling anybody what it is they plan to do.

Call me old fashioned if you like, but I always prefer to know and understand what it is I'm voting for.
Old fashioned. You might not even be that old, but you quite clearly are old fashioned.

To be frank, given the state of the current government, if the Labour manifesto said "we're going to hunt down [Sid] and kneecap him" I'd still vote for them.

Which is why KS the tool (made by his Dad the toolmaker) had a lot of room to move to the left.
Shame we have a Labour leadership, about to take power, being more to the Right than John Major.
Tories the f##£ing most of you.

It’s going to take time to fix the mess the Tory’s will leave behind.
The Tory’s themselves can’t even fix the various messes their ever changing leaders leave behind.

But if you look at what Tony Blair achieved in his first term, then it should be possible to turn things around in this next parliament

Nobody knows how much space there is to move to the left (or right to be fair) until they try it and suddenly find they've lost the election. Such is life in our f***ed up country.
You can only take people with you if you have a reputation for economic competence and you can only earn that if you're in power.
Win elections - govern - make good decisions. That's all anybody needs to do. There's no value in a party ticking my personal wishlist of policies if they're not in power first.

The economy and government Tony Blair took over from were quite drastically more competent than the one we have at the moment.
If the Conservatives made Ken Clarke their leader now I'd seriously consider voting for them.

Well, I would hope things would improve. It won’t be turned around. I can almost guarantee that.

Right now I’d settle for an immediate halt to the corruption and rot. Then some steady but solid policies actioned to try and reverse the dire straits the Tory’s have landed us in.

Let’s put the fire out first and then set about rebuilding.

Progress not perfection.

Tony Blair inherited a growing economy going into boom times and it's easy to make a political difference when you have the money to do it. Starmer will inherit the worst economic situation in my lifetime with it still deteriorating at an ever increasing pace. Until that is stopped and the economy is turned around, there will be no money to do anything, however well intentioned.

It's no coincidence that the biggest political changes (whether you agree with them or not) were made by Blair on the back of a booming economy, and Thatcher on the back of North Sea Oil and the money from privatising Utilities, Nationalised industries and council housing.

Any political change has to be funded and there is currently f*** all money to do anything and the situation is getting worse by the day

You know we will win by a landslide. Now is a good time to move away from centre right, look at the state of the UK from bottom up rather than from the top, and amongst many world issues for one stop supporting the annihilation and starvation of Palestinians for starters.

There’s as much money as there’s ever been. That’s the benefit of owning your own currency. It’s why we continue to find billions of GBP for things many of us think are utterly absurd.

This idea that we have no money is concocted by politicians to keep the populace under control, by breeding the idea that govt finance is the same as home finance. It absolutely isn’t. It also means they can pit groups against each other and keeps them from giving sensible pay rises to groups like teachers and nurses.

Then again, there are still people that pull out the line that Labour left the country penniless in 2008, because the Chancellor left a note for the new Tory Chancellor saying we had none… something that outgoing Chancellors had been doing for decades.
