Would imagine the players pretty much know already. Those not playing have probably already started looking elsewhere

You reckon?

I think the reason Virgo was left out last week and probably tomorrow is so Gus can have a look at Hoyte. If Virgo hadn't done enough to impress Gus then he would have started last week/be starting this week. I think he's done enough to earn a deal. Hoyte on the other hand...

Did the arsegas work that all by themselves, or has this "news" been around since last time he said nothing would be dealt with till we were safe/end of the season? They are depsarate for a headline aren't they, and that isn't even a headline, I reckon an eskimo who has never heard of the Albion could have put the details together and taken a guess that the decisions might have already been made, or of course they might not have been made yet, but thier guess is as good as anybodies guess.

After the performance at Hartlepool, I reckon they already know as there was a massive lack of effort put in, it looked like they knew they had nothing to play for. A pre season friendly type game

I get the feeling it might see a few more of those before the end of the season, win tomorrow and we are safe, could get rather dull afterwards.

Maybe, but those players who feel that they do not have a future at Brighton should still put in the effort, even if only to impress for future employment.

After all, if Slade is manager still with Orient next year he may well coming looking for our cast offs. Same with Adams.

Similarly, thoes players who are probably gonna get new contracts, that doesn't guarantee a 1st team spot. So all to play for.

I reckon those who'll be released / put on transfer list / Loaned will be :

Steve Brinkhurst - Season long loan
Josh Pelling - Released
George Barker - Season long loan
Craig Davies - Released
Jamie Smith - Released
Colin Hawkins - Released
Gary Hart - Released
James Tunnicliffe - Transfer List
Liam Dickinson - Transfer List
Dean Cox - Released
Jake Wright - Released
Michel Kuipers - Released
Nicky Forster - Released
Jim McNulty - Transfer List

That will leave a squad of :
Tommy Elphick
Adam El-Abd
Mitch Walker
Glen Murray
Gary Dicker
Andrew Crofts
Adam Virgo
Elliott Bennett
Steve Cook
Chris Holroyd
Alan Navarro

...and then we'll sign
Inigo Calderon
Lee Hendrie
Kazenga Lua Lua
Marcos Painter
Peter Brezovan

Which means a squad of 16 players and so I can see us bringing in another 8 or 9 new faces over the summer months.

I reckon Gus will keep Tunni and maybe Dicko, other than that I would agree with your list.

I hope your right.

So do I. That squad, with a few quality additions, would be a vast improvement on what we've had the last few seasons and would give us a shout of getting promoted.

i think it would be foolish to release Kuipiers without a replacement signed. he may not be great but he is OK, got us up before and prepared to sit on the bench as a reserve (well has done it often enoug at least).

I disagree with releasing Hawkins, I think despite his donkey antics he may be the experience we need. if you are looking at the center backs I would release Virgo and have El-Abd, Elphick, Hawkins and a Prem/Champ center back.

Pardon..what are you on ? Hawkins was barely adequate under Adams and Slade. Gus is taking us to another level...one which Hawkins will never get to .
Plus his knee is knackered !
Experience is only ok if you can play !
