I was lucky enough to have a chat with him a couple of weeks ago. I plucked up the courage to go up to him to thank him for what he’d done for the club and apologised for disturbing him. He told me he was waiting and asked me to sit down beside him and we had a 20 minute chat covering mostly the Albion. Apart from being a bit on the deaf side he was as sharp as a needle and as outspoken as ever.

Nice to meet a hero who didn’t disappoint.
