Following on from the suggestion of Toko Nzuzi (one single appearance, away to Burton in the 2014/15 Capitol One Cup) in the 'FLAIR' thread, what other 'One cap' Albion careers have you been there to witness?

Note that anyone who has featured just once, but is still at the club (Josh Duffus, for example) does not count.

Off the top of my head, I was there for:

Ali Al Habsi: Bournemouth 3-2 Brighton, Championship, 01.11.2014

Scott Chamberlain: Bristol City 2-0 Brighton, JPT semi final, 23.01.2007 (subbed on, 72 minutes)

Shane McFaul: Brighton 3-0 Crewe, L1, 02.02.2008 (subbed on, 90 minutes). Glenn Murray's two-goal Albion debut, no less.

Unless I’m inventing this, I think we had some dodgy Aussie goalie (no, not that one!) at Leeds one year. Pink kit, got thumped

Some guy who played away at Barnet in late 90s but wasn’t properly registered. Seem to recall he had Justin Fashanu as an agent or friend. Think he might have scored as well.

David Yeldell (who was American, as Stat points out) made THREE Albion appearances.
Good Abdul Razak played for us before being swapped for his twin who was shit at football.
SIX Albion appearances

Franco Massimo, 1986 v Shrewsbury. Came on as sub. Was seriously quick but not very good. Ended up as a police officer according to Wiki.
TWO (1 start and 1 sub) according to Wiki at least.

Iffi Ikijwakijifki or something. He'd count
Didn’t Shamir Goodwin (now Shamir Fenelon) get up to the lofty heights of two appearances? I remember him starting in Hyypia’s first game in charge.
THREE appearances

And Darren Newman made his debut in the same game never to be seen in the first team again.

Also Alistair Edwards, an Australian striker made one appearance in 1990

I refuse to believe that the Razak who played in the first game is the same player who played in the other five. There’s a drop in form and than there’s that. It had to have been a doppelgänger.

Anyway, my ace card is Zoumana Bakayogo who we had on loan for an entire season but I don’t remember ever actually playing. Surely he got a couple of minutes in a cup game?!

Correct, he replaced, I believe, Alan Biley and later joined the Met, probably retired now.

He is a few years older than me but I remember fondly as a first former that he absolutely destroyed a PE teacher in a 100M sprint on school sports day. I think he was in the 5th form at the time.

Emeka Ifejiagwa? On loan from Charlton but turned out to be unable to work in the UK or something. He played twice for us according to Wiki.

Yep, Emeka Ifejiagwa. Had been recommended to Charlton by John Fashanu (not Justin).

Scored on his debut at Barnet and then started again against Hartlepool. He failed to appear in the squad the following week against Darlington because he was actually attending an interview with immigration officers that day; he was refused a work permit.

[He had entered the country on a six-month visa but signed a two-year deal with Charlton . The Home Office decided he had not played enough internationals for Nigeria to warrant the work permit. He appealed but that process could have taken 18 months.]

On the bench 3 times if this is accurate https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/zoumana-bakayogo/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/48411/verein/1237

Players joining on loan, who never actually made an appearance, is worth a thread in itself.
