Do you not remember when he was unmarked at the near post right at the start of the 2nd half and completely missed the ball?

Not unmarked ..but don't let the facts get in the way ..

Some peeps on here having a there equivalent of a wet dream with week after week high fiving who can slag Barnes off best ..it was a crap penalty ..even worse attempt at the rebound but not the reason we only drew ..I'm gutted at the result but we played som cracking stuff today

Talking to the wrong person here mate - I've long been a supporter of Barnes and unconvinced by CMS. CMS was poor today but Barnes was shocking. If CMS had missed the THREE absolute sitters Barnes missed today I'd be saying the same about CMS.

I was aiming it personally at you, just observation wise

Barnes didn't have a particularly good game today, but like it or not, handball or not, it was his break that took the ball from deep in our half to lay the ball in for CMS to win the foul from which we scored.
CMS was poorest I've seen for a while today.
Hammond was poor too.
Crofts made no impact.
Orlandi gets the plaudits but missed another absolute sitter today.
And after Barnes went off, we sat deeper and they scored.
So how come it's take a pop at Barnes, but the others get off scot free?

It then ran through and orlandi dinked it pathetically straight at the keeper without any power.

Difference being Orlandi played very well and is a good player.

Err yes he was. The defender was nowhere near him and he had a clear shot at goal but completely missed it. No one can defend Barnes today he was woeful and if he isn't dropped for Tuesday I'll lose faith in Gus.

Barn Door Barnes can just f*** off now. Struts around thinking hes Billy big bollox. Hopefully Bristol City come back in for him. On todays performance he would be lucky to have Bristol Rovers interested

Most of the players played well today. I wouldn't have said Hammond was poor. Literally just CMS and Barnes who I could criticize.

Why's everyone having ago at Ashley today.

Played his normal game as far as I could see

Big difference was the late dropping of two points, shows up how important his constant misses are costing us.

No different to a normal barnes performance IMHO

Because he is useless

He was dire today. His confidence is completely shot and he should never have been allowed to take the penalty. The rebound miss was unforgivable.

Needs to be taken out of the team for a sustained period of time and someone else like Hoskins or Dobbie given a decent run so that they are able to find form, not just given a few minutes here or there or one game and then dropped.

I have defended Barnes on here before on many occasions. But today I can't think of any reason to at all, not just for the obvious reasons but because he just does not look like a championship player. Get Hoskins in for a run of game he clearly has something to offer. Barnes OUT.

For me it is not so much Barnes playing that is frustrating, it is more about the alternatives sat on the bench. Dobbie scored two in two and then is out of the side for Barnes, really do not understand that one.

1. Penalty
2. Penalty rebound
3. 2nd half, squared to him about 10 yards from goal. Total air shot.
That would be air shot that then rolled to CMS who was unable to control it, let alone shot, before it bounced off to another Brighton star who I can't even remember, but also missed it.
Three players miss it including Barnes, but only Barnes gets pilloried for it. The others don't even get a mention.

4. Clear through in the second half and hit the shot with all he had with his left foot and sliced it into the North Stand, when he had so much time to bring it on his stronger right foot and pass it past the keeper.

It didn't 'roll' to CMS, it went behind him then rolled to Orlandi who was being marked and at a much tighter angle.
