Seems a tad harsh. Finally achieved in one season what Clarke failed to do in 3 and gets the boot... Plus, how much of the £8m from Rhodes did he see to reinvest?

Mind you, decisions seem to be getting more cut-throat by the week in football. No room for sentimentality and if they believe they can get a better manager who can get them performing better, they're within their rights to make a change...

Barnsley, Blackburn x 2, Blackpool x 2, Bolton, Bristol City, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Huddersfield, Ipswich, Forest and Wolves. So 'only' 11 clubs but 13 managers not including caretakers. Peterborough, Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham will probably have a go at some point this season too.
