And what's he got to do with Brighton V Derby?

What you'll actually do is look down & think of nothing. That's what I do, and I'm sure 90% do.

Except the bloke who shouted "f*** off back to Barnet Codner" in 91

Remember it well. It wasn't exactly in good taste but when i look back on it, it does make smile.

How did SKY botch it up? It sounded like to me that the ref blew his whistle after Paul Samrah had taken a pause during his announcement.
As PS has explained on NSC, he and the referee had agreed the sequence of events and that the minutes silence would START at the end of the scripted tributes to the two men.

SKY botched it up by signalling to the referee to start the silence before the tributes had been completed. Apparently TV schedules are more important than anything else and SKY pay a fee that entitles them to run their programmes how they want to, regardless of anything else.

Have never quite understood the minutes silence thing.

Those who wish to respect whoever it may of been who has died, should be able to in their own way, but enforcing people to partake in the minute or two minutes silence is wrong, yes it is a mark of respect to whoever the silence is for, and yes today was appropriate to the majority of people attending football matches today. But for some it wasn't as they have their own views but were enforced to join in.

I remember the 9/11 tradegy for which there was a national two minutes silence, of which I observed with respect.

There was then another minutes silence at the next football match I attended and yet another one before my Sunday league match.

I am sure the same will happen across many parks across the country tomorrow morning.

George Best great footballer RIP
