Smell of pipe tobacco smoke on the terraces and the industrial smokey smell as you walked to the ground (what WAS that smell btw?). Good old fashioned football ground with kids standing on crates and people taking all sorts of vantage points around the ground that Health and Safety would go apoplectic at these days. Those were indeed great days.

Most of the 30k+ games from 77 onwards, packed to the rafters,....but funnily enough the 28k 83 quarter vs Norwich was the most packed felt in the North stand for sure.

The Wolves game in 69 was my first ever game watching the Albion. What a night, and that was it I was hooked for life.

Pretty sure I saw all of the others you have quoted,I was certainly going all the time. I think the Bournemouth match may well have been the one where the Police made them leave their boots outside the ground, and the Spurs match was a "bit special"

Happy days, I am glad that I was around to see these, and just as happy with the way things are going at the moment. It's always a good to be an Albion fan, as there are lots of special moments, games, trips away etc to recall. I am just hoping that this season will end up as a very special one!

In London village.
Yes - but I think the last one was Charlton in April 1979. (also did all the 1976-79 ones).

Thanks for that, saved me looking it all up in Carder & Harris! Ten for me, every game from Rochdale '72 onwards.

Gosh! Twelve of those for me and I can remember something from most of the ones I went to. Great to see a crowd that size again at Brighton and here's hoping it's a good omen for the end of the season.

Funnily enough, this is the one that stands out most in my mind. Obviously made a big impression on a 9 year old !

Several for me in the late 70s. The ones that stick out in the memory are the Spurs game - utter carnage in the ground with the police all outside when it kicked off, and Charlton on a sunny bank holiday when the place was rammed and it felt like a lot more than 30k - I thought at the time they announced it as 34k+

.......Promotion clincher against Sheffield Wednesday out of the old Third Division, 30k 0dd seem to remember, sometime in the late seventies.....Albion won 3-1 or 3-2.
Pitch invasion and deep joy abounded(.... sigh :albion2:)
Was at the Tottingham game next season (32k) where the dirty northern *******s infiltrated the North Stand and kicked off......seemed hairy, but handbags, really.
