i would say a navy pension plus a salary is a pretty decent situation to be in , i would suggest most on this board are "life's winners" , as a salaried employee one has access to paid leave , sick pay , pension and also support from HR when somebody says something nasty to them...

This is precisely my point, which is that calling others losers, puffing his chest and proclaiming himself as one of life’s winners suggested much more. The reality is he is probably like “most on this board” as you put it.

I’m not 100% sure I was puffing My chest out, I just know self confidence among the working classes gets right up the hoop of yourself and other assorted champagne Socialists, it’s also a bonus,I suppose to see the bitter,snobby side of you shine through. I am however very happy with my lot, academically I was not very successful at school, sums never really interested me, I can read, write and add up and am able to hold polite conversation with most people. I am sitting in pole position right now for where I want to be in 9 years and 4 months time. I’m happy.
