I think it was four. We drew at Fellows Park and in the replay at the Goldstone Ground. The replayed replay was also a draw, but I can't remember where it was played. The final replay was played at Craven Cottage where we lost.
not quite correct. The first tie was at the Goldstone, 1st replay at Fellows Park, 2nd replay at Craven Cottage ( 0-0) 3rd replay ( lost 1-2) was at The Hawthorns .

Why did we play Coventry just about every pre-season in the late 60`s to early seventies ?
We always lost 2-1 as well.
What was the club connection...... I dont know the answer by the way.

1960 - FA Cup replay vs Rotherham?

Yes, it was a replayed replay against Rotherham. We drew at Millmoor and at The Goldstone in the replay. I'm not sure of the year, but I think that it was earlier than 1960.

This was at a time when singing wasn't the norm at matches (just like Withdean,) but Sussex by the Sea rang out spontaneously from all four stands after the fifth goal. Marvellous scenes on the underground after the game. Every train seemed to be packed with Brighton fans. Then Victoria Station was awash with blue and white.

Another question for the quiz:

Which Brighton player was the first player to score a professional goal in the second millenium?
And for a bonus point:
which team did he score it against?

February 8th 1960; the date sticks in my mind because my dad went to the replay at Highbury (I think Bill Curry scored a hat-trick) and it's the first time I can remember asking him about the Albion. He didn't take me along to a game until the following season (August 1960) against Bristol Rovers at the Goldstone which we won 6-1 (Thorne 5, Curry).

My quiz question(s):
Who did we play in the next round after Rotherham, what was the score and which famous player scored for the opposition?

My immediate thought was when we beat Wisbech 9 - 1 and Jesse Pye scored for them but after looking up the fixtures we lost 2 -1 to PNE so would presume Tom Finney was still playing then.

 and Tom Finney it was.
That's my Albion nostalgia fix for today, back to the current shower and my anti-depressants then.

Darren Freeman against Exeter City on January 3rd. Was the first goal of the millenium due to us having an early kick off.

But it's no fun if you get it
Haha where you there? I was :bigwave:

Did you remember the Wisbech game actually I typed it wrong it was 10 - 1 and the next home game was Southend and we won 9 - 0. At the time I was newly married so if Brighton scored so did I after those 2 games 40 + years on I am still in credit:laugh:

I was at both but don't remember seeing anything in the Southend programme about you "scoring" after the Wisbech game.:D
The games must have been in 1967 or 1968?
