Total respect for the neo-classical naming conventions, whoever did it. Would have been a bit rubbish if they'd been named Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich.
Its actually one, if not the largest object in the Kuiper belt rather than a planet, as has been discussed.
Latest images shown has the dwarf planet showing a reddish tinge similar to Mars, which is surprising as I thought it might look like an icy ball like Jupiter's moon Europa.
Pluto also could fit into the USA if it was on Earth.

Only right and proper that FDM should have a region of the Solar System beyond the planets named after him

I'm sure Plutonians are outraged to have been kicked out of the big boys league of planets in such as shoddy manner.
Dwarf play offs then?
I rather like the fact that its carrying a small amount of the ashes of Clyde Tombaugh, the astronomer who discovered Pluto in the first place.
