No it wouldn't be fine but it would do until I got one I'd prefer. Do what you gotta f***ing do to get food on the table, christ. Some people have got it all wrong.

AND, more importantly, I think we should be proud that Britain is a nation which welcomes people from all round the World and offers asylum to those who need it.

I missed this before. I would agree with that and don't think we should have a blanket ban on immigration, but the fellow European nations should do their fair share. I feel it is important that we do not let down the current population by opening the doors to any old sailor. Of course, there should be a flexible approach to alternative measures.

Before doing anything we should have a look at who is already here. What about all the Australians and New Zealanders who are here on working Visas ? Then there's various people from African States and the West Indies.

We could also find out how many people in this country can actually speak English while we're at it.

...will you be including the native caucasian population in your survey, I have met plenty who have done a pretty good job at bastardising our language.

Many many migrants all over the world do not speak the language of the native country they reside in. I am sure it is not solely by choice (apart from the Costa Del Brigade), rather than inability or lack of opportunity or lack of finance.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
There was that news a few months ago about how more Poles were returning to Poland more than those who arrived now.
Humans travel where opportunities lie. Now the UK has fewer opportunities so odd-coloured faces and colourful clothing and strange beliefs in God and trust in parliamentary power and boiling turtles and the strangling of wives and bidding a warm good morning will be senses and habits "we" won´t see as much of for a long time.
Noel Edmonds wants no more immigration to the UK. He also believes there are two orbs of light that travel at a 1000mph that are the souls of his mother and father. These two flashes of light lurk at all times on his shoulder and arm. They can be spotted in digital photography.

The uk has taken on the immigration points system developed by Australia, which i find to be one of the most hypocritical political countries in the world in terms of "who" they´d welcome and who they´d turn away. So of course last week we learnt of "who" we need as a country and "who" we should disallow. The stats to make these decisions are put together by idiots and all we have hope for is a ship of twirling, sexually-charged ballerinas and a 100m parcel of sheep-shearers at least half as hairy as them they shave and hovercraft officers to help deliver.
I really just hope that the general managing of this is utterly shit, as they generally are, and those with the talents to provide are allowed to do so. Especially in healthcare.

The problem is BoF that immigrants are not a lot of use as workers if they cant communicate, All they do is put unfair pressure on English speaking workers around them.

It's not just from an employment aspect that this is an issue. We ARE overcrowded. There are too many cars on the road, not enough water/electric/gas and everyone is living everyone elses toes which in turn leads to increased crime figures.

It is not rocket science. We are full up.

Whatever, the fact that in some schools English is not the chosen langauge speaks for itself. Where is matters (and I know this from recent experience) there have been stuations where people who cannot speak English have been taken ill and their treatment delayed not only because the can't translate what their problem is but also their customs mean they will fight doctors who try to examine them. That's just part of the issue though.

The question you have to ask is why they choose to cvome to the Uk and not France, Germany, Holland etc. And if we really are full up and suffering the credit crunch then wouldn't that make it less likely for them to come?
