Friday night footie is fine if you happen to live nearby. My round trip from Somerset normally takes me a tad over 5 hours. Last night it was bordering on EIGHT hours. Traffic is crap on Fridays. No thanks. Plus, of course, footie is supposed to take place at 3pm on a Saturday. End of.

What about people who have to work Saturday afternoon?

To be honest it is a slightly academic discussion as the police more or less decide when we play.

Like it because i got a chance to go without pissing off my club manager but can't ever see it becoming the norm and don't think it would feel right week in week out

Friday night games make a pleasant change, but should only be played against teams within a reasonable distance (60/70 mile radius).
I see that Swansea are at home to Carlisle this coming Friday. That's a helluva trip for the Cumbrians.

That sounds reasonable to me.

Nobody us included want away supporters they would rather fill the ground, if possible with home supporters. Hence nobody consider them when making decisions. i.e Bank Holidays and no trains, weekend repairs on the rail network clubs very rarely put on extra coaches to accomodate that.
