Not for me.
Slipped on the wet turf, it happens.

Silly old bat
You can argue against the ref but whatever VAR decides thats it, we could well have had a couple of penaltys awarded against us for extreme gripping and shirt pulling in the area, you win some etc,etc

Change your user name Palace!
Extremer gripping? :lolol:

*the plural of penalty is penalties.

I thought the VAR decision where Connolly got the penalty against Everton was ridiculous. (the league later came out and confirmed that was an error)

I thought this decision was ridiculous. (I expect this one to also be highlighted as an error)

So, now that it is not even making correct decisions, what EXACTLY can VAR fans actually point to as a benefit of it?

Its actually getting progressively worse, not better. The duff VAR calls are stacking up week in, week out. At times I am left literally AGOG at the VAR decisions. Did anyone see the Matt Targett tackle on Pereira the other week in the Villa v Newcastle game ? One of the most shocking knee-high leg-breaking tackles you could ever see, a stone wall immediate red. The ref books him. I'm thinking "VAR will upgrade that to a red, it simply HAS to....." But - nope. Astonishing.

Here it is if you want to take a look. https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/e7y4os/matt_targett_tackle_on_ricardo_pereira_only_a/

I mean seriously ? what the absolute fvck.

I'm sorry, but VAR is now just a pointless mess. It costs FAR more aggravation than it ever solves, and when I come to power I will be binning it off immediately.

I think you can argue whether that sort of challenge should be a foul or not. But by today's standards, it is an absolute stonewall pen. Montoya's movement was affected by the clip but because he got a strike off and didn't appeal it wasn't given.

Plucking figures from my arse, I reckon that would be given 9 times out of 10 in the PL today. 10 out of 10 for the top 6.

Indeed. If that foul had been against Salah and LiVARpool, I think we all know exactly what the decision would be.

Another thing I’ve noticed is the decreased bookings for diving.

Guandouzi three himself to the floor on Sunday and got away with it.

Surely it should be easier?

I wonder whether Montoya didn't appeal because he thought he had slipped and didn't realise it was the defender's contact that made him feel like he slipped.

Yes. Watched it on TV and no doubt at all.

Read an interesting match report on the Man U Everton game which had an equally contentious non penalty VAR call. Because De Gea had is head turned away from the ball when he tried to catch it, the journo said it "felt right" not to give a pen. Because Montoya got his shot on goal did it "feel right" not to give one last night?

VAR is inconsistent nonsense.

Well, there would have been no need for VAR to overturn it, as the ref would have given it without hesitation.

In the 0.0000001% chance it wasn't given, the entire Liverpool team would have surrounded the ref and the physio would have been on treating Salah's mortal wounds VAR would have overturned it on the first viewing.
