I have been informed by some friends who go out a lot with a couple of brighton players have told me that they take cocaine.I am not going to mention names and maybe we should just forget about it as it is so popular in todays culture but should they be able to get away with it,as they are being paid by the club and surelly should be doing all they can to help the club not snort our money up their noses.

Utter bullshit.

Even if they were it's none of our business what they do with THEIR wages.

Tell me, do your friends employers test them ?

it's standard policy in the US these days. Class C drugs are one thing but grass is a different matter.

No they are not tested but they are not paid professional sportsmen.

what they do in their own time with their wages is their business - thats as long as it doesn't interfere with playing the best that they can week in week out....

Think its a bit stupid to be doing it on game weeks though to be honest - do the random tests apply the same as to the premiership players?? and is their any evidence to suggest it affects your play?

From what i know it mainly happens on saturday nights after the game and they dont go out friday nights before matches if that makes any difference.

48 hours and you're normally clear.

Grass can stay in your system for up to a month. Alcohol on the other hand goes withing a day usually. Just as dibilitating though but legal.l

Although it's illegal it's fairly common knowledge that this stuff goes on and we're all big girls and boys but I personally think that the drug busters/FIFA/EUFA should only be able to take action for performance enhancing substances. It's a different matter if the club want to introduce some kind of random checks as, after all, they pay their wages.

I'm not up on this drug stuff though so does cocaine enhance performance? I'd be surprised if it did.

Cocaine is said to improve reaction times and makes the heart pump quicker, getting oxygen around the bosdy quicker. Personally I can't see how it could possibly improve performance, all I want to do after a few lines is drink shitloads of beer.
