Should Turkey Help

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
Turkey could absolutely Smash IS but won't because the West wants a big war and that would snuff it out rapid.

Turkey don't want to help the Kurds fight as they regard them as terrorists too.

The air strikes are not the just the perogative of the west.

Turkey has no troops in the Greek (EU member state) half of the island. They are occupying **** all

Dave you couldn't be more wrong if you tried. The entire island of cyprus is in the eu - there is no 'Greek half'. Eu laws are pragmatically suspended temporarily in the occupied areas that are not under effective control of the roc. The Turkish army is illegally occupying nearly 40 per cent of an eu state. It's all in the public domain.

If you have ever been to the occupied areas and seen the desecrated churchyards and cemeteries you may change your view.

Edit sorry forgot to mention the mass rapes in 74.

Go to rizokarpaso and see the enclaved communities. Dave it's an eye opener. Tell the people there they are not illegally occupied.

Yes they should.

No they won't.

Turkey do not want a viable Kurdistan on or inside their borders.

I think it will be very difficult for the Western powers now to resist moves for an autonomous Kurdish state, we should have given them one in 1918. Unfortunately they inhabit parts of Turkey, Iraq, Syria and Iran. And probably other neighbouring states.

The island was given EU status 20 years after the partition. So, I really dont consider they are occupying anything. States change.
I didnt say at all that it was a Greek Cypriot coup, I did say Greek, not sure how that excuses the coup.
Funnily enough, I was actually there in 74 on HMS Lowestoft to evacuate British passport holders out of Famagusta.
