Stoke and Everton had to go to Selhurst for it for losing their semis in 1971.
As I remember it, one of the ideas was to have a match in London on the Friday night so that those finalists fans down for the weekend would have an 'interesting' match to go to. I must have lost interest in them myself because I'm sure I would have remembered the first FA Cup match to be decided on penalties.
