The Argus does say: 'There was still no sign last night of Albion competing a loan-to-buy deal for the replacement for Kazenga LuaLua targeted by Poyet.'

On the face of it that is negative, but it also means that Naylor was not sure when the paper went to the presses that the deal would not be concluded by the time it was issued, and by writing that covered himself in case it was. I guess this means that the deal could he imminent and happen at any time.
