[Albion] Should Sanchez have saved that?

This thread is definitely tongue in cheek (possibly petty) but it does show the hypocrisy of some of the posters who were slating Ryan at every opportunity but don't want to scrutinize Sanchez in the same manner.

Well for starters Sanchez has actually made saves since he’s been in the team. Including a couple of certain goals.

Think Ryan was given a few seasons rather than a few games.

Yeah I know.

I think this season Ryan made the saves to hold onto a point v WBA.
Made a very good save from Madison v Leicester.

But apparently they are regulation saves and not to be judged despite them being comfortably on a par with Sanchez' excellent save v Sheffield Utd.

As I've said, as many times as you've said that, I'm ok with GPott making the change.
I just wish there could be some honestly around the position, how the team has collectively defended and how the game plan effects the position NOT the player.

But with goalies, it’s never the ones you save, it’s the ones you let in.

Ryan did make a good save at Leicester, but he did make an error on the first goal if I recall. (Weak hand again?).

Sanchez didn't punch the second shot, he palmed it away.

it was a well struck shot . . . RS had about 0.3-0.4 seconds before it hit him.

If anyones reactions were slow it was Dan Burns.

Not too sure many 6 foot 7 defenders would have adjusted their legs to control or clear that

Way too much over analysis of that goal.

Yes maybe Robbie should have punched up and away, but 99 times out of 100 that same punch doesn't end up bouncing off Burn and going it) and nobody thinks about the incident twice.

Personally I think there were lots of near misses (such as the one in the 93rd minute) that are way more worthy of analysing to find improvements

Sanchez concedes at his near post again. It’s becoming a bit of a weakness area in his game unfortunately.

People saying the keeper should save that are talking absolute sh&te. From that position Foden good have opted for either post so Sanchez has to be where he was. It couldn’t have been placed more in the near post.

So called fans criticising our keeper for every single goal we concede.

Couldn't agree more. Some really idiotic comments here.

What an interesting concept.

Not interesting just annoying. Not every goal that is conceded can be blamed on the goalkeeper. The greatest goalkeepers in history concede goals.

And yet every single time we let one in there is someone on here saying the keeper should do better, it’s nonsense.

I 100% agree.
