So I glanced at the TV this morning to see this as the topic on the screen.

I was not imagining it:

[tweet]838328993187258370[/tweet]

Is it me, or was it reasonable that nobody on the production team should then have asked "If that is what we are left with, is it not time to cancel the show?"

Its sick, if i was to ever find out that they were teaching my grandkids this kind of filth at such an early vulnerable age both me and the son in law would be down the school as quick as a flash. no kidding either..
Reports are saying at the age of 4 (not porn) but sex will be taught... so because it isn't classed porn does that make it alright ? none of it is alright end of.

Kids will search out porn anyway, the filth on the internet is very strong but it's the modern equivalent of finding a damp Men Only in the bushes and taking it home for a tommy tank, or standing in a video shop for 2 hours pretending to look at James Bond whilst plucking up the courage to reach up for an electric blue, or all going round your mates house to watch a video from his Dad's stash.
So because of what's freely available now they should learn at an early age that a woman with 3 willys in her is not the way to go, or that when you get your first blowy if she doesn't go right down to your hinge end, it does not mean that she doesn't love you.

It is not up to the state to interfere in our kids sexuality it is the responsibility of the parent not the state. totally fed up with state interference in everything we do let alone sex. .
Whether kids are being taught sex or not they are certainly not daft and know the difference between right from wrong. nobody ever preached to me at the age of 4 about the rights and wrongs of sex and if they had do you honestly believe that I would have taken note.
As for porn the flirtation of that subject is likely to run a mock in a poor child's mind.. so leave the fu*k out..

My wife was giving our 10 year old and 2 of his mates a lift to football training last week when the boys started asking questions about sex, ribbed condoms, lube, positions, etc etc...She is pretty open about that sort of stuff so she tried to give as good an answer as possible to everything, but without going into too much detail as they weren't her children (& there is only so much they need to know at 10&11)

Totally flummoxed her though when one of the boys asked her bold as anything if she had ever done a**l. She couldn't believe they knew about that sort of thing.

It seems the kids know enough already at this age to not start introducing porn into schools as well tbh. Scary thought.

It could be included in a more well rounded sex education curriculum.

When I was in school, early - mid nineties, our sex education lesson (just the one, that's all we had) consisted of watching a video detailing what the male and female genitalia did and how each worked. That was it. There was nothing about love, safety, respect.

I generally found our PSE (Personal and Social Education) classes to be quite lacking. They taught us stuff like how to conduct yourself in a job interview, which was massively helpful at 10 years old. Most of us just used them as a chance to do homework for other classes.

I'm neither teacher nor parent so only going on my experiences from twenty years ago but there seemed to be such a focus on getting the school good grades for the league table thing that teaching us how to behave and act in a modern society was left largely up to us. It was about results not education.

Good post. There is a world of difference between anatomy/biology and sex/relationship education. PSHE should be used to enhance our children's understanding of emotions and relationships, not the crap schools are feeding kids under the banner of PSHE. As a country we still suffer from our Victorian 'stiff upper lip' syndrome where talking about managing emotions is 'gay'.

It's a hard one...

It's pretty vile when you're not in the right frame of mind, mind.

It's too graphic for kids to be exposed to really, it could warp their minds, in fact it's been shown to do so.

But what is telling them not to watch it going to do? Drilling in a don't watch porn ethic, much like the don't do drugs ethic may make more kids do the opposite in an attempt to rebel against the system.
And if that happens it'll be the School's fault for telling kids about it, parents should put filters on their internet if they have kids, most do, some don't, some that don't understand it's their fault, others try and blame everyone else but themselves (twats).

Great opening line...

early - mid nineties, AIDS well under way and no drugs to treat it. And they never mentioned safe sex? I'm guessing this was at a young age, because surely they wouldn't omit this to those about to become sexually active!?

English, Maths, Science, History and PE. Scrap the rest of it.

Every week I read about something else that should be 'taught in schools'. Well every minute we give over to this rubbish is a minute not spent on the core subjects.

That's my tuppence worth.
