Just tested and got these results for dogging, Brexit thread top!!

1. Because this post in that thread includes the word dogging: https://nortr3nixy.nimpr.uk/show...rexit-Thread&p=8337421&viewfull=1#post8337421
2. Because that thread is the most recently posted to that has that word in it.

NSC search works fine, although if you use the simple search box at the top of the page, the default options it uses aren't great. Try this instead: https://nortr3nixy.nimpr.uk/search.php?search_type=1

That said, for quickness, I tend to use site-specific searches on Google, eg: https://www.google.com/search?clien....northstandchat.com+dogging&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

I can't stand horse racing. Whenever I see a racing thread I see red. I just stare and stare at it getting angrier and angrier. If there was only some way of not looking at threads that don't interest me.

Because, like a dog returning to its vomit, I can't seem to stop myself returning to the brexit thread.

Certainly dog eat dog in there, you must be a masochist. Tell me, how many have come around to your point of view. Would I be far of the mark if I said NONE and lots of abuse along the way?

True. I would like the ignore thread possibility or failing that, Bozza to delete the whole execrable thing entirely.

Just don't open the thread, why is there a need to install a layer of censorship and who and how do you decide which ones that should be hidden.

How's it censorship seeing as how individual users would be choosing to Ignore Threads in exactly the same way as choosing to Ignore Users? Seems an entirely logical feature to me. There's already a filtering facility, tho I'd be quite surprised if anybody actually uses it.

I've wanted a personal *Thread Zap* for years.

More so because Tapatalk automatically shows you the first few words of the last post in each thread ( even if the poster is on ignore ) - which sometimes means idiocy is too hard to avoid.

How about shunting those threads which are never going to die onto The Other Stuff board?

So the number of views on the two threads stayed the same?

We tried that any from the reaction of the permanently outraged wing of NSC you'd have thought that Bozza had sanctioned a night of puppy drowning for the mods*

*which is next Friday if anyone else wants to attend.

Nope, can't see it. Is that a mods only function?

I didn't think so... but maybe?? For me, it appears at the bottom of this page:

Ah, right, your screenshot shows the option to filter threads by prefix, if I'm reading it right. Which is an option we all have. Not the same thing as being able to zap an individual thread so you just don't see it anymore.

Yes.

There is also the 'Thread Display Option' at the bottom of the 'Big Board' page which can help you filter out unwanted crap.

Never going to even open the Word Association thread. Ditto the Let's Count To 500,000 thread. Would welcome a way of making them cease to cross the consciousness. Dare say others feel the same about, say, the Horsey Daily NAPS thread.
Great idea! Mind you, I seem to remember asking pretty much the same question a few years ago ..........................

had a quick look and there doesn't seem to be a plugin that does this. I'd gladly install one, if it existed.
......................... and got pretty much the same answer! Will just have to keep on ignoring them, I guess. Not the end of the world!

Would love it if all those bl00dy world's hardest creature threads were instantly merged into one thread rather than having separate threads for each round splattered all over NSC like a rash - mods? Possible?

I was hoping ignore a thread might be a thing, especially as "ignore a mod" is not possible (maybe we could have "ignore a mod's non admin posts"), but I guess filtering on topic does help somewhat.

If we could ignore themes individually it would be even better than selecting the ones we do want to see. Yes, I know - I shouldn't go in the threads I don't want to see - but it would be a lot easier if I couldn't see them...
