I would imagine this cock up with Hamilton watches is a massive blunder by Lewis Hamilton's marketing department. I very much suspect Lewis Hamilton knows very little about this fiasco, he has far more important issues to deal with, driving for a world class F1 team for starters.
Maybe, but he has a massive ego that needs constant feeding. There'll be another along soon.

No I'm not fishing mate & not disagreeing for the sake of it but do you not think a multi millionaire sportsman would have a marketing department to oversee the brand name of Lewis Hamilton. The copyright permutations must run into the thousands and I doubt very much that Lewis Hamilton had much input into these decisions if any at all. We are talking a multi million pound industry and he probably has to toe the line somewhat in the marketing and branding department. Maybe wrong but how have you experienced marketing The Mouldy brand. How is the Mouldy aftershave selling?:)

So do you really believe lewis Hamilton did not know his company was going to court over the Hamilton name? If he did he is arse and if he didn't he is arse, so that would make him an arse whatever, which sounds about right.:)
Stick him in a slower car next year and watch the him throw his toys about when vestappen whips his arse.
I am thinking of sueing the high street chemist that has stolen my brand, how dare they. They only formed in 1849 and I had this name since 2004.

I know you said you worked in F1 for a couple of years. Did Lewis Hamilton get you the sack because I can't really understand why else you can't stand him (yet prefer an arrogant Belgian/Dutchman)?

No. Jim Clark when F1 was Life Or Death.

So because one sportsman wasn't given a knighthood in a previous era that means nobody else is considered.

And what has the fact that Jim Clark drove in an era when the chances of death were greater. Do you think Clark would prefer to drive then or now?

He hadnt been born when i worked in F1. But my last job in motorsport was with a company they built, prepared and raced cars for Vauxhall in the British touring car championship. Lewis's brother Nick contested several seasons in either a support feature race series or touring cars themselves. When Lewis came to support Nick , Lewis DEMANDED AN EXCLUSION ZONE AROUND HIM. He didn't want any of his adoring fans pestering him. Thats where my dislike for him arises, its the sheer arrogance of the man that annoys me and many more like me.

You’ve just described a huge number of EPL and Championship players.

As a kid in the 70’s fans could meet players, chat with them.

Now (pre CV19) they’re protected from us by security and lanyard wearing ‘player liaison officers’ who relish the task of being the sole arbiter of who gets near a player.

This modern disconnect has been well documented.

The exception that proves the rule .... Xmas dos where young supporters if they’re lucky get to meet players.

Maybe, because he was there to support his brother he didn’t want it to turn into the Lewis Hamilton show, which it would have done if he was mingling with the crowd. Just a thought, and pretty considerate imo, it should not be another stick to beat him with.

Would tend to agree with you. Just wants to watch his brother race without it being all about him. Asking to keep his presence low key would seem a reasonable thing to do. Turning it into an F1 Lewis Show would surely be far more disrespectful.

I agree. There are your people in life who feel they have to say a PC answer to a question, and then there are the honest guys who don't see the point in licking as it is fake.
I have spoken to many involved around the motorsport, and I have asked the question ' What's Hamilton like'? If they give the PC answer, I follow it with, 'now tell me what he is really like'? I get a reaction that from their faces that paints a thousand words all depicting, an arse.
He seems to model his PR on Stirling Moss as he was an arse too and that I know from others within the sport and from the most direct source.
Now you compare them to SIR Jackie Stewart, what a man and racing driver, he is a different class and worthy of his knighthood.

Now I know you’re on a wind up. Is this the same dour, boring, bitter Jackie Stewart who can’t give genuine praise to anyone who isn’t from his generation? Boring dullard, living in the past, every time I listen to him

I see your still rattling on with this as a personality award rather than an achievement award. And you as the arbiter of what constitutes an appropriate personality :lolol:

Haha, well Icy, you have just proved to me with that line that you know nothing about motor sport over the past 60 years.
I know the poll doesn't show how you would like, but let's get real, Hamilton is not worshipped and that is for a reason and NOTHING to do with his race.

Yes, I have strict standards in attitude for people who are knighted.

It's okay though, I think you are okay to feel the steel.:)
