Both really. But definitely a massive hike on american sized things with f*** all in them . . . Daft bints in X5's, 5' builders in Navaras and the like, with little more than a happy meal and a screwdriver in the back and a load area no bigger than a Bedford Rascal!Size rather than weight. Our roads are not designed for pick up trucks and those huge SUV, range rover types. This means that they end up forcing other cars off the road in rural areas, blocking pavements as parking on the road would block the road etc. I can understand farmers using them but no-one else needs them.
Genuine genius idea, add 20% vat to fuel, problem solved. The simplest and fairest way is just to tax fuel - the more you use the more you pay.
….and they don’t even use them! Whilst we’re at it, teachers get too many holidays.
The problem with that is there'll be an even bigger knock on effect via all those delivery vansThe simplest and fairest way is just to tax fuel - the more you use the more you pay.
Technically correct although I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say damn I forgot to pay my VED.Nobody pays road tax. There is no such thing.
There already is, plus the VAT is charged on the fuel duty so taxing a tax.Genuine genius idea, add 20% vat to fuel, problem solved.
Absolutely ! Apologies for a frivolous comment.Imagine having a set of scales for people beside check in/bag drop and surcharging people over a certain weight, mayhem and fights guaranteed
Finnair are already doing this albeit on a voluntary basis.Imagine having a set of scales for people beside check in/bag drop and surcharging people over a certain weight, mayhem and fights guaranteed
That should really have had a warning to look away now as it's vomit inducing
Rather than weight go by waist measurement, anything over 40" and you have to purchase two seatsI am always surprised that airlines charge extra for overweight luggage but not for people 20kg overweight. Surely Ryanair have thought about it?
and then still use the frigging road next to it! ffsIt is bizarre to me how they spend millions on cycle lanes for a group that pays no road tax to maintain them.
