How would we react if Scotland decided it wanted to be in an arms relationship with Russia? It’s exactly the same thing as Ukraine joining NATO no?

No. It would be a reasonable argument, if not for the national wealth syphoning nationalistic disinformation spreading gangster that is Putin.

If I lived next door to him, I'd probably try to get friends with my other neighbours too.

Same old any enemy of the USA/Nato is a friend of mine bullshit. Bit like George Galloway calling China a socialist "work of progress".

A few years ago I was surprised that we had returned to binary world of 1980s UK politics. I've been even more surprised lately that the nutjob beliefs on either side have fused together on a number of issues.

Much fuelled by internet disinformation, mostly ironically coming of Russia,

We probably need a "new politics" but I'm convinced it isn't that.

Wow. The differences in insight between one guest and the other three is something to behold in that clip.

Cascarino totally out of his depth.

Why stop there.....lets get rid of Vodka, those little dolls that live inside one another (never liked them!), the meerkats that peddle insurance at us every ad break.

I've already ripped my Sergey Gotsmanov poster down....that'll show em!

I’m just glad I never bought a Lada!

He does say he doesn’t know the full details. I’m not sure which bit of sand his head has been in…He and his Sky colleagues are happy with all the money from the PL brand and Chelsea fans are enjoying the success. Sadly there are many BHA fans who would take the same attitude.

At the end of my tether
The question In the poll was not to do with politics or Putin , but rather the Chelsea owner Abramovich . I read that Mr A is , of Russian born but is now a citizen of Portugal . This gives him full EU citizen rights

I see no cause to “throw him out of football “ although I dislike Chelsea F C as much as the next man.

Well, that’s a bit literal. I clearly asked the question because of his dirty, laundered Russian money and in the present context of the illegal invasion of the Ukraine. I don’t really care about his EU citizenship.

The 70% vote on here to get rid of Abramovich should put to bed the accusation that the majority of Brighton fans really support Chelski...

I thought the internet would lead to more openness and honesty...

Matthew Syed was a brilliant table tennis player and is a brilliant journalist. Always a fascinating listen and read.

His podcast with Flintoff and Savage was excellent, a shame that they stopped producing them.

Although I don't think he should be chucked out of football, I wouldn't lose any sleep if he was!

I'd like it if they did. Can they throw dirty Saudi money out too while they're at it?

Moving the Champions League final from St Petersburg would be a positive move too. Something tells me that UEFA prefers Gazprom's money to moral arguments though.

UEFA dont seem in a hurry to cancel by sanction the CL £inal in St Petersburg ,
Wonder Why ???

Apropos of nothing, U€FA apparently receives roughly €40m p.a. from Gazprom through various sponsorship deals.
