I'm there and unless the pilot ejected out then I fear the worse, not a very nice atmosphere, people crying and just generally numb and in shock about what they've just witnessed

I don't know anything about air shows or the amount of accidents that happen at them. BUT, seems to be quite common? Just last week i was reading about the death at Chris Evans festival.
As spectacular as these things are (the shows no the crashes) should we not seriously be looking at whether they're sensible things to be doing?

The pilot of a Hawker Hunter has been pulled from the burning wreckage of his plane when it came down at the Shoreham Airshow in West Sussex.

He is said to be recovering in hospital. It is not known if anyone else has been hurt.
