Help please NSC's. As you realise I live in Spain. My brother who lives in Brighton was going to the airshow today. I have been trying to contact him, mobile & home line but no response. Is there a line I can ring to enquire as to his well being?

Good luck, hope he's ok.

It's not right to be taking videos but if they are available I will watch them to comprehend what happened.
The one taken at the scene brings home the true horror and makes you want to sympathise much more
than a video taken of a plane a long way away.

The media encourage people to take the videos. The BBC website has at the bottom of the page covering this
story details of where and how to send videos/photos of the incident.

Are you sure someone has made a joke? I didn't think so.
It was only after reading the recent posts disputing the significance of the wedding day that it occurred to me that Green Cross Code Man may well have meant that it's doubly tragic when he posted Heaping tragedy on tragedy. If that is the case then please accept my apologies, GXCM.

Sussex police have put out a number if you can't contact loved ones

I understand what you mean and agree with a lot of it but imagine if that video was viewed by an unaware parent who noticed it was their son/daughters car/numberplate? It was far too premature to be posted on a local forum like this where somebody is bound to recognise one of the vehicals involved.

If the pilot makes it he will have alot of explaining to do.

So what aviation skills do you have to understand this unique situation ?

What, like 'I lost all controls'? On a thread like this, try and think before posting.

If they are available it is human nature to want to comprehend what happened, but we often don't know where the video leads.

To me it was more of a trophy glory hunt for Youtube hits and the manner in which it was filmed was heartless. The motivation for filming it could be debated with in the first place, but there has to be a duty to show some respect to the victims and not broadcast it.

If you are a relative of a victim the last thing you want is for their death to be trending over the internet.

It's hardly unique. Brian Brown died crashing a Hurricane whilst also performing a stunt at the same show in 2007.

Maybe he should be explaining why he was trying to loop the loop over a dual carriageway

Is that how it works, do the pilots just do what they fancy - they don't fly a pre-planned routine?

As I was sitting In a queue on the Sompting by-pass looking east and seeing a previous flyer looping the loop, I found myself thinking "he must be very close to the road".

I have always had reservations about air shows, thinking they are accidents waiting to happen. Dreadful yesterday.

You'd think he'd have been on confirming his kids/ex-wife were OK. Mind you, StonehamPark is online but he's not made such a confirmation either; are you able to do so, Stoneham?
This is not the time nor place for jokes.

Firstly, thank you for all those who have showed concern ( too many to multi-quote ). Apologies for not being back sooner - it's been a bad night from the perspective that I've been unable to contact my children, my ex-wife or the friend she was with. Sussex Police haven't yet identified many of the dead which makes the situation even worse and so they are able to give little information.

They were camping in the New Forest so reception is poor anyway and due to circumstances earlier in the week ( long story which I may well bore you all with at a later date ) they may have extended their stay ...... which obviously is what I'm hoping.

I will post once I hear something - very hopefully positive.

Notts - thank you for the PM.

Totally agree. It was wrong to film in the first place and it was wrong to post the video earlier but as you know once
the're filmed they go online right away.
The guy filiming was high on adrenalin and was more excited than concerned.
As for posting the video on here,it's now on the Daily Mail website. As I said in an earlier post the media encourage
people to film and to send in their videos/photos.
