Flicked over to a French news channel......this sounds pretty major. SdeF has been locked down (with 80,000 inside apparently). Hostages have been taken at a concert, grenades apparently thrown near the SdeF, people killed in a restaurant...........drive by shootings........

I am fairly sure they came off a long time ago. Guantanamo Bay for example has become home to all manner of suspected terrorists and thoughts of human rights have been decidedly secondary!

If it was as simple as kid gloves coming off, they'd have done it ages ago.
