Great. I've had a f***ing awful day and now Arsenal have gone and made it worse.

I should have put money on it

All that matters to football fans is that Manure fail.

What a load of tosh. I class myself as a football fan, and your comment is nonsense. They play the most scintilating football, have the best players in the World, and succeed where others fail. OK, there are a couple of knob heads in their side, but what team hasn't? Even we have had our share. They get put up on the pedestal by the media, so of course they get shot down, like every single team that gets there.

I will be delighted to see them win the final.
If it is over Chelsea, then my reason is I dislike the way they have tried to buy success from nothing, Drogba admitted cheating, yet didn't get thrown out of the side, and the general hypocrassy I experience form so called life long Chelsea fans, who didn;t go in the 80s, or the 90s.
If it is Barca, then 2 reasons, one, Manchester United are a team from the English league and for the reasons I stated above, secondly, because I don't think Spanish football is as good as many (the media again) try to make out it is, so would like to see if that is the case, and see it proved.

Either way, I will enjoy the final, and enjoy watching the geniuses that grace the pitch for whatever 2 teams are in it, because, as A TRUE FOOTBALL FAN there is plenty to look forward to, whichever of the three it is.

They have at least 11 knobheads playing for them every single game. As far as buying success goes, EVERY team that has won the premiership has bought it with Manure being the biggest culprits - just coz it's over a longer period of time doesn't make it any different.

As far as I know neither Barcelona nor Chelsea sing songs at football matches celebrating the deaths of British soldiers in The Falklands whereas Manure do (I've heard them and they are disgusting) so even if it's just for that reason every Englishman should want them to fail at every available opportunity.

And Crystal Palace have 11 knobheads playing for them every week, funnily enough, Palace fans say the same of Brighton, and Arsenal fans say the same of Tottenham and Wednesday fans say the same of the Blades, and Toon fans say the same of Sunderland, FFS, Cheltenham fans say it about Rushden and Diamonds.

That is what you say about your rivals, are you a Liverpool fan then?

As for buying the success, yes, they buy the best players, with money they have earned, through huge crowds, massive fan bases and global branding and merchandising. Chelsea had little of that until Abramovich stepped in and blew the whole transfer sytem out of the water.

As for singing hatefull songs, I think you'll find Chelsea, Barca, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham (and in fact just about every team that goes to Tottenham, fans start hissing in the stand, and that includes hundreds of Brighton fans last time we were there, made me sick). Many others sing some pretty sick stuff, perhaps it is knee jerk reactions to the opposition, many many sick songs about the Munich Air Crash are aimed at United, as were the sick songs aimed at individual players, Beckham in particular. I also recall a Spurs v Liverpool game where the Spurs fans songs against Bill Shankley were disgusting. So I really don't think Manchester Uniteds fans are any less sick than loads of others. And don't missunderstand me on this, I can't stand any of those songs, but to single out one team is missing the point.

I guess you simply don't like United, fair enough, but please don't tar us all with your brush, it is not every Englishmans desire to see them fail, it is not every football fan who should want to see them fail, in fact, it is quite the opposite, you know, they are quite a lot more popular than, oh, er, any other team in the World.

I get what your saying. I think everybody has to go on their on experience and having heard the songs celebrating British soldiers deaths I cant bear to watch that team. I haven't heard any of the other songs. Even their kit makes me feel physically sick.

Rivals is a bit of a strange word because how can you define it? I certainly wouldn't class Crystal Palace as our rivals as we never play them. Likewise Manure aren't Brighton's rivals either but they are by far and away the most hated team in the world for me.

I do see where you are coming from but I disagree that the majority of non-United fans would still wish them well.

I think there are very few fans of other teams who don't wish to see them fail, and there are far too many reasons to list as to why. Some fairly unjust but many others more reasonable.

I don't want to care about the Premiership but the media is so obsessive and saturated by it that inevitably, particularly once our own season is over, I start to take an interest and without having any favourite team I choose instead to support ANYONE playing against the team I despise more than any other.

I know far too many Manchester United fans with no connection to the club whatsoever to ever give them the time of day. Not once have I met a true Mancunian Manchester United fan that I could sympathise with.

I don't like Palace but you can't call their fans glory hunters. And I'd sooner they won were they pitted against United.
