Really enjoying it. Wife's family is from Nottingham and her brother-in-law from Worksop, so a lot of local interest for us.

Also good to get a bit more education on the miners strikes etc.

We are however struggling not to rate each actors North Nottinghamshire accents. Some are a little too Yorkshire, it's a bit subtler than that.

Are you confusing Sherwood's Robert Glenister with his young brother Philip?

Yes, yes I am. Wow. So this is the one who was in Spooks.....in which case he looks reallly fit!

I hadn't realised they were brothers. Cheers!

This series just seems to get better and better. Kudos to the writers and to the casting director - it's a who' who of great British Character actors. Good to see cameo from Stephen Tomkinson in it this week.

I really like it.

David Morrissey is a fantastic actor, he was also great in The 7:39, for example.

He first came to my notice in the film "Captain Corelli's Mandolin".

I believe we have professional Northen chubster Mark Addy (fat bloke from the Full Monty, Fred Flintstone, Robert Baratheon etc) to look forward too as well. He was briefly in the opening scence in the last episode and is said to have a bigger role in the forthcoming episodes

I grew up in Mansfield in the 80s, so this has hit home.
The accents are generally pretty good, but Adeel Akhtar (Andy Fisher) absolutely nailed it. It was like listening to my dad.

blimey.... something has united NSC... not often happens. Agree wholeheartedly... superb series and a plethora of fantastic actors... each new scene has a gem in it.. like last night with chris fairbank... very glad it isnt a binge and delayed gratification is adding to the enjoyment.

My box didn't record last night's episode - which I assume is due to Andy Murray. iPlayer it is then...
