Anyone who is thinking about going amd needs something to make up their mind, bear in mind the following:

Sheffield Wednesday's average crowd this season is 22,381. Add this to the Ken Bates factor, Leon Knight and our LEGENDARY away support, this is going to be some game.

COME ON ALBION

Pubs:
From official site.

The two main pubs frequented by away fans on the A61 are the Norfolk Arms & The Red Lion in Grenoside. Both are some distance from the ground, but welcome away fans, and due to their location there is rarely any trouble.

Avoid:
On the A61 nearer to Hillsborough are pubs such as The Park, The Gate and The Travellers which are no-go areas for away fans. They have a strict ‘Home Fans Only’ door policy and any away fan who enters may get a less than welcome reception from home supporters who drink in these pubs.

I'd endore what they about The Gate & The Travellers. And even Owls fans can't get in The Park without a pass. If you want a pint within walking distance, The Horse & Jockey on Wadsley Lane (straight up from The Park, about 6-7 minutes walk) normally has accomodates away fans without any bother. Other than that, if you're on the train, I'd say have a pint on West St - bags of boozers to choose from & then straight on to the tram to the ground.

Have a good trip lads (and lasses), but hopefully pointless.

The recommended pub for away fans is the Rose & Crown but that is a fair distance away

I'm going with 3 others - first class from ST Pancras :)

I haven't seen us win away since the last day at Port Vale and have been to 10 away games since then. Saturday is my birthday and we are going to win and drink :drink: :drink: :drink:

Me and an Everton, Liverpool and Tranmere fan (one of each).

Lived in S6 for ten years and got back into going to matches by watching the above play Wednesday. Then dragged a Villa supporting mate around most of the northern div2/3 grounds. Its my second trip back since leaving and I'm looking forward to a few pale riders in the Fat Cat before and after. Hopefuly get to Stanage/Froggatt for a spot of climbing Sunday. Should be a great weekend.

To the tune of 'By the Rivers of Babylon':

"From the suburbs of Birmingham,
To Hillsborough,
In my Astra,
We're gonna see the Albion..."

Leaving Selly Oak mid-morning with Mrs SOS and Junior SOS, up to Rotherham, pick up my Ipswich-supporting mate and his son (my godson, who will be attending his first ever game), then back down to Hillsborough...

All preceded by a day playing cricket at the Indoor School at Edgbaston on Friday, wearing my 'Sussex Champions 2003' T-shirt... :lolol:

Myself, Emily & possibly son Matthew will be making the very short trip to Hillsborough on the 11.02 from Wombwell to Meadowhall & then on the tram to Hillsborough.
