Sheffield Wednesday away

I remember us being 1-0 up there going in to injury time before the inevitable happened and they equalised on the counter attack with pretty much the last kick off the game, good 12 years or so now though. We were bottom of the table and they were 23rd at the time, we would have gone above them aswell.

Didn't Gary Hart hit the bar from about six inches out or did I dream it?

And Rotherham is even nearer unfortunately (although the relevance of these shitholes being near Sheffield eludes me).

Always been foggy in Sheffield when I've been
They can get a bit lairy up there
Hillsborough is a big hulk of a stadium
Love both Sheffield grounds, both close to housing areas as all proper grounds should be

This is the game where I made a guess we would lose our first game on that thread. So I just want these next few games undefeated and out of the way in the hope that I was wrong

Last time I went, years back, I THINK we lost 1-0. My abiding memory is a Wednesday player (no doubt with 'fond' memories of the little shit's recent loan spell) kicking Leon Knight into about the fifth row of their main stand.

There was no need to cry about it; we always lose at Hillsborough.

I lived in Sheffield for 4 years at Uni, loved it.

Eccleshall Road and Broomhill areas where the main student areas are full of decent pubs, bars and places to eat. If you stay over its worth going to the Peaks the next day for great country pubs, head south in the direction of Bakewell (for a proper Bakewell Pudding) or Buxton which is nice too.

I'm looking forward to it a lot...

I live up here in sunny Sheffield. Its awesome, no seriously it is :D. Peaks within 10 min drive or a 30 min run. Friendly people. Cheap houses. Nobody very stressed, easy life.

I second Kelham island for beers or just go to the Sheffield tap in the station.

Interesting to see they had Leon Knight & Lloyd Owusu upfront against us that day!

Been here three weeks now, really loving the city. This'll be my first visit to Wednesday.

Will be there yet again , like to see us win there before I pass off this mortal coil. Oh natives generally friendly, ended up in a curry house resturant with some after last game.

It's good to hear you're doing well. What's it like up there? Do they have electricity yet? Running water?
