Really? I thought previously if it came off an opposing player and changed the general direction of the ball it wasn’t offside
It depended on whether the defender intentionally played it. That's what they ruled a few years ago in a game between Liverpool and Spurs

Anyone else genuinely angry about that tackle? I mean I’m glad it helped us, but it was really nasty. This has already been posted but…

Disgusting..outright assault. 0% effort to play the ball 100% effort to injure Mitoma as rightly so they would have id’d him as one of the biggest threats. I hope that POS Holgate gets more than just a standard ban..he knew exactly what he was trying to do.

What a result. Sheffield United are terrible, but we did what was needed today with little fuss, not playing at the top of our game, but still scoring 5 goals. Goal difference improved, record Premier League away win and up to 7th in the European slot. Shows how much we’ve come on since the Potter and Hughton days we’d have struggled in a game like this, but we made light work of it today.

At the Amex they were the worst team I've seen (pre Dahoud's dumb red card), along with CP.

It’s quite worrying, that had it not been for VAR the ref would’ve given a yellow. Hard to imagine what on earth the Sheffield United player was trying to do with that tackle.

Lovely win, good for the goal difference, a clean sheet and some more minutes in the legs of returning players.

But my biggest takeaway was what a nightmare season this is for Sheff utd. They're so far out of their depth it's not funny. A miserable, miserable season for them.

I’ve just had a quick skim of the Blades board and there’s no complaints from them, most are very angry at that tackle and the outcome

Back up to 7th and in the Euro places. Good game without really trying too hard. Our 2 wingers caused so many problems for their defence. Just glad they are back. And a clean sheet to boot, what more could we ask for. Maybe no injuries.

Sheffield United really do have the feeling of a classic relegation team, everything that could’ve gone wrong today went wrong; early red card, disallowed goal, own goal and a deflected goal. They did everything they could to make the game easier for us lol,
