Great to see that GP is willing/able to adapt his favoured style against certain opponents. I must admit that I was concerned that we'd drop down without a fight. The main thing this season is now getting over the line whatever way possible. If that means going all Hughtonesque in certain games then so be it. Then GP has another full summer to build further towards the ultimate goal of successful Potterball.

Agree I hadn’t expected him to be so pragmatic but if it means going more defensive to stay up, I’m happy with that. Feel he’ll be in a much more informed place cone close season to strengthen the squad as he sees fit.

Seeing that, that would be a very harsh pen. The ball dropped out of the sky, the arm in a natural position. No intent either imho.

Bath Uni, ex ref Peter Walton and ESPN examined all controversial decisions and non-decisions in seasons 2017/18 and 2018/19. There was no pattern of so called Top 6 getting decisions over the rest, it was a completely mixed picture. For example Brighton were huge losers from refereeing blunders in 2017/18, but gained the next season. Many officials seem crap, but they’re consistently crap without bias.
