So give a couple of soft yellows - one off the ball that I doubt he saw clearly yet couldn’t wait to get the yellow out when the ball finally went out yet O’***** jumps on the floor embarrassingly trying to get a fellow pro sent off, the most blatant piece of simulation you’ll see, and the ref bottles a booking. Even in this day and age a load of biased northerners can still influence a pro ref with no backbone. Just **** off.
I hate cheating, hopefully retrospective action or a least a kick in the throat to the cheating piece of dog shit.

Not the real one
Good half overall. Very good from the three centre backs, Schelotto, Bissouma and Maupay particularly.

I’d take Murray off at half time for Connolly though. Murray has offered absolutely nothing, not even holding the ball up. Looks weak up against their defenders and seems to get slower every week. Connolly would give them something else to think about, another player like Maupay running off them and generally causing a nuisance.

This is the sort of game where we need Murray, defending at one end and likely to nick a chance at the other. He occupies their centre backs constantly at our free kicks and corners. Connolly wouldn’t offer that.

Very difficult game this but we decided to go with strength and intensity today and it seems to be the right decision even though things like flair and creativity is taking a nap.

+
We are going to be extremely dangerous on set pieces today
Not much delivery for Maupay but he looks sharp and focused
Sheffield actually havent created that many goal scoring opportunities
Players are really standing up for eachother when Sheffield or the ref is shitting us

-
All of our schizo boys (Scheletto, Bissouma, Pröpper) are obviously in their Shit Footballer personality today
Glenn Murray is looking pretty 36 today
They are obviously a better team meaning we have to fight a lot more... could be an issue towards the end of the game
Tbh I'm not sure Trossard would fit this game

Saw the replay of the goal and Ryan pulls his hand away. I think he thought it would hit the post

Interesting half.

Ugly game but it's been relatively effective. If we come away with something it'll be well worth it. There's been very little flow to the game and if we can keep sheff utd form getting into a rhythm that's good news for us. I'd like to see us with a little more of the ball though. I think we'll struggle to stop them scoring again if we maintain only 30-35% possession.

Their player had yards of space on their left after a corner and hit it really well. Lots of questions to answer before blaming Ryan.
Warren is always quick to criticise IMO.

It was crap defending and crap goalkeeping. Ryan is useless with anything hit above his shoulders and his distribution isn’t much better. I’d rather see Button...

Spirited comeback though.

I think that Murray has had no joy with winning the ball or holding it up as their CBs have won everything. I think I would try a different approach and bring on either Trossard,Ali or Connolly to try to run at them and get in behind them

I do get it. They are very organised but a crap footballing team. It unfortunately works. We have played far better football than them this season yet they’re miles ahead - so guess we’re the mugs to a degree...

70% possession against us.

Think we’ve done alright - they’ve had loads of the ball and not done much - liking the fact we’re matching them physically - maybe we’re not the soft touch some say we are. Have to say though the negativity and anti-potter posts early in this thread are hilarious. Cheer up fellas.

I’d agree with your point if I thought Murray was doing that but he’s not. He looks totally off the pace (obviously) but is also getting knocked off the ball really easily so I can’t see the point in keeping him on. Connolly, or even Trossard would give us another option and them something else to think about.

You don’t think they are physical? They are the Wimbledon of the 21st century, but playing with the confidence of a team doing well. Niggly thugs imo

we're the niggly thugs in this game!

Really though, some of their passing and movement is nice to watch, just seems a bit offish to dismiss them as some brutish force.
