Flitcroft, Montgomery and Morgan are three very good players on the bench. And none is a goalkeeper.

A Blade posting on their forum:

Ah yes Brighton and Hove Albion: Now that takes me back 30 years or so. It got me to reminisce about Peter Ward and co. Or rather - just Peter Ward.......Well, not entirely. http://thisisalbion.co.uk/history/legends/legends06.html

Peter Ward: Plucked from non-league Burton Albion to do the biz at the Goldstone. Apparently (according to another link) he scored the best ever solo goal seen at the Goldstone against Mansfield (who were top of the table at the time btw)......Funnily/coincidentally enough I was there. My memory is a bit hazy but PW picked the ball up (not literally of course) in Mansfield's half jinked to the left and jinked to the right and the Mansfield player fell over. PW then came upon the the next Mansfield player and jinked to the right and then jinked to the left and the Mansfield player fell over. He then did a few twists and turns in the penalty area and Mansfield players duly fell over. Next up, the goalie. Easy peasy....cheesey peasy. Goooooooaaaaaaaaaaal!

Oh yes, Peter Ward a real 70's legend (and he even had a curly perm) so imagine my surprise when I saw his current photo.

Aside from him there was of course Mark Lawrenson. Hey, I tell you what, if you click onto the link on thisisalbion you'll be able to read about him. He's remembered by me for making surging runs from defence/midfield with his head looking to the left and looking to the right (Monty please note) and then deciding that as there were no options he'd keep on running (whilst beating the opposition players of course) and he'd then pass it to... Gordon Smith?..........And Smith must score?!

Yeah OK Fozzie's headband lasted until the FA Cup final. Shame that Peter Ward and Lawro were elsewhere.

Oh yes, a prediction. Er, anything better than a 1-1 draw will suffice. BHA's Youth team beat Chelsea Youth a few days ago so watch out for a few young 'uns playing this afternoon. Notably Steve Gatting's son. Blimey, that makes me feel old.

PS: Match has kicked off.

Carole doing the business on the ageing Unsworth. Gary Hart with a poor header from the Carole cross.

Is anyone having problems with Seagulls World? I can't get the matchlive console to open up.

I only started subscribing this year and this is the second game its not worked for. Should I get used to this piss poor service? I'm canelling my subs if so

Kabba causing trouble by the corner flag. Joe Lynch fouls him. Gary Hart foils Kabba though, legally.

If Kabba keeps on mucking it up, they are going to bring on their subs which could be dodgy. Butters slices the ball for a United corner.

What was close? Sheffield United have had one shot. Kabba from a ridiculous range. It does seem that their were so many Albion players in their own penalty area, they got in each other's way.

Is this ball by ball text commentary strictly necessary when it's available on the radio, to SW subscribers and on BBC livetext?

Albion seem to be playing the 6-4-0 double full-back system.

Plyaing 6-4-0 and Ifill gets caught offside!
