Dunk's renascence didn't last long. He is a real worry isn't he? (LOVE the guy, obvs)

Sanchez -7- great save from the free kick, couldn’t do anything about the goal. Was a breath of fresh air with his quick distribution and can throw it to the half way line.
White -6- tried down the right but crossing was hit and miss
Dunk -5- not at his best
Webster-6- solid and a decent shot from outside the box
Veltman -6- did alright down the right
Solly -7- deliveries were decent and ended up playing right back. Was at the least trying.
Bissoumma -7- a few nice tricks but needs to up his game in the final 3rd
Lallana -6- actually made some space on the edge of their box with his turns
Trossard -4- couldn’t hit the target and tried a back heel in our own box!
Maupay -3- didn’t do much at all ! No movement at all to try and create something
Connolly-3- see Maupay plus missed a sitter. Drop deeper to pull the defenders out

AJ -5- direct running good, passing poor. His chance at the end wasn’t as easy as it looked.
Welbeck -7- got our goal and we looked more dangerous with him on the pitch
Zeqiri - 4- didn’t look strong enough

Agree with this the most except
Zequiri should be 6 (didn't do much wrong ion his short time),
Trossard 5 at least for midfield link up play.
Ali J 3 - at least level with Maupay/Connolly

Still in Brighton
Was glad Veltman went off as he couldn't even pass or throw it down the line and keep it in. Gets a 4.
Lost count of the number of times Maupay and Trossard threw their arms in the air in childish tantrum (that sort of player won't get us out of trouble). They get a 2.
For lack of any quality Connelly and Ali-J get a 2.
The rest get a 5.
Dirty gets MOM.
Lack of togetherness very troubling and they are obviously not playing for Potter.

It's all very Albion - we just don't do mid table, we go for promotion or we get sucked into a relegation battle.

Dunk not at his best is an understatement and he’s been that way pretty much all season.

As I said last week, Dunk is a real issue for us. He’s almost undroppable due to his position in the club but on performance this season, there’s no way he should be starting. If Lamptey and Veltman are fit next week then I would drop him.

Can’t believe AJ has scored as high as 5 for some. I’m usually one to avoid the unnecessary bashing he gets but he was atrocious at times today. All over the shop. Positioning was sloppy, he didn’t track back, got in the way of his teammates, missed an absolute sitter and generally looked well below par bar one pass that I can recall.

Watching different games to me recently in this respect. Dunk got outpaced by Burke, but has been playing okay, and that was his only ‘moment’. The bigger issue had become Webster but he’s also played well the last two games.

Veltman had a nightmare today for me, such a heavy touch. Would prefer Alzate at RWB.

Sanchez 7 Great save from the free kick. Decent distribution. Has looked better than Ryan ever has in his appearances.

Veltman 5 Shaky, clearly not a natural RWB.

White 6 Did mostly ok I guess. Hard to judge the back three when they had so little to do.

Webster 6 Did what he needed to defensively but has to do more at set pieces.

Dunk 5 As Webster, but with more nervy moments. Was lucky Webster was covering when he gave away the free kick we nearly conceded from.

March 6 As usual really. Made some good runs and worked hard but no end product.

Bissouma 5.5 Started well but his attacking play was very dodgy in the second half.

Lallana 5 Decent first half, anonymous second.

Trossard 4 So bloody frustrating.

Maupay 3 Missed decent chances, gave the ball away loads. Something is seriously wrong.

Connolly 3 Craig Mackail-Smith the second.

Jahanbakhsh 3 Did a good job of treading on everyone's toes and generally getting in the way. Absolute sitter at the end as well.

Zeqiri 5 Hmm. Not going to judge when he is chucked into a game like that out of position.

Welbeck 7 Scored.

Sanchez - 8 - makes saves and catches the ball. A real find;

White - 6 - ok;
Dunk - 5 - what a decline from one season to the next. I’d have the awful Mings in the England squad ahead of him at the moment which says it all. Would drop him next week;
Webster - 7 - Our best defender;

Veltman - 6 - ok;
Lallana - 6 - ok, must wonder what he’s done sometimes having to play with AJ, Maupay amd Connolly;
Bissouma - 6 - ok;
March - 6 - ok;

Trossard - 6 - good cross marked him up. Doesn’t offer us anywhere near enough for the talent he has;
Maupay - 4 - just crap. Again. Sell him or loan him out till he sorts himself out;
Connolly - 4 - not good enough. Loan him out and hope he will be good enough one day;

AJ - 5 - dreadful miss cost us 2 points. Not good enough. Ship him back off to the lightweight dutch league where he will be again;
Welbeck - 7 - great finish. Our only striker worthy of the name;
Zeqiri - 6 - looked a little lighweight but at least he was direct and trying to create something.

Sick of the amount of stick Potter is getting at the moment when he is being served dross on the pitch by certain players simply not doing their jobs.

Agree.

Would like to see him start up-front with Welbeck tbh. Can't be worse than Connolly or Maupay currently.

He was so wide today. I don't want to see him whipping in crosses, I want to see him getting on the end of them.

I hope Solly was watching how easy it is to cross from those positions.

Fiveways
Sanchez 8 MotM -- one cracking save, great presence, promising distribution. Given a chance by the manager that half this board wants OUT.
Veltman 4.5 -- poor passing today
White 5 -- ditto
Dunk 5 -- he's not on it this season
Webster 5.5 -- carried the ball well, won a few headers at corners, but thought he could have done a bit better with their goal
March 5 -- also carried the ball well, but he should have done better with their goal -- he was nowhere near Bogle, and he was his man, and there was a carbon copy of this just a few minutes earlier
Bissouma 6
Lallana 4 -- well, he's obviously NSC's golden boy. Did diddly squat in his 90 minutes on the pitch, yet everyone trots out above average marks for him.
Trossard 5 -- got a lot wrong, but at least he was constantly trying to be creative and to make things happen
Maupay 3 -- at least got his effort on target but, unfortunately, something is badly wrong with him
Connolly 2 -- utterly dire today, capped off with a dreadful miss ...

Subs:
AJ 1 -- ... which was just about eclipsed by somebody has topped the Eredivisie's scoring charts. He was dreadful today, although he did put in one decent cross that Connolly stole off Welbeck from just a few yards out and inexplicably headed over
Zeqiri 5 -- we have learnt that his left-footed, and that's about it
Welbeck 7 -- put the ball in the back of the net, which is unusual for us

Potter 3 -- I don't blame him for our awful finishing this season, but he really needs to get the players fitter, playing more direct, pressing high up the pitch -- in short, being less passive, playing with more tempo. He could get us doing better at set pieces too.

Sanchez 7 Good
Webster Dunk White 6 So little to do but why cant they be organised enough for a defender to be on right side of attacker on there few breaks. Not Rashford dealing with but forwards that have hardly scored a goal.
March 7 He did well.Got lots of joy down left but hard to understand going to right and Swiss guy played out of position on left.
Veltman 5 Very good CB and good fullback. Just out of position at wing back
Bissouma 7 As defensive midfielder did job of winning ball and passing it on.
Lalana 5 Poor too deep. Needs him to show quality nearer forwards
Trossard 6 Got better as game went on
Connelly 2 Contributes nothing.and needs to drop several leagues in hope of finding a level
Maupay 4 Understand his critics and not putting chances away.and overall game poor today. When on form movement good and hope he comes good.Cant do confidence much good to be taken off before Connelly
Maupay

Surprised no one seems to have pointed out that March, despite some good work, was effectively responsible for their goal. He played them onside twice in the build up yet in his position on the left looking across to the right he should clearly have seen that he was deeper than any other defender and should have checked his run.
