Shocked. Just hours after he was tweeting about the late March too.

Warne was an outstanding spin bowler (best of all time for me), a great ambassador for the game. Always have time to up coming spin bowlers. Terribly sad loss. RIP

Shocking news.

I'll never forget the day you announced yourself to English cricket fans with this ball:

Not just a brilliant player (one of the greatest players to play the game), but suddenly rekindled what was definitely the dying art of leg-spin bowling.

Genuinely shocked and saddened by this news.

I saw him win the World Cup semi for Australia at Edgbaston in 1999, saw him get his 700th test wicket at the MCG in 2006 and got chance to meet and have a quick chat with him in Melbourne on our 2017/18 tour.

An all time great, loved the world over. You will be missed Shane. RIP.

Sometimes I see a headline pop up on my phone and just think "f***ing hell, I just can't believe that"

A cricket legend and an entertainer on the pitch.

Shocked about this, one of those players I hated when he played us but liked once he retired enjoyed his commentary.

Always remember that first ball in England taking out Gatting's leg stump after pitching almost off the pitch

"Legend" and "too young" are often overused... but not in this case. Shocking and sad :nono:

Tweeted this just a few hours before he died...

Sad to hear the news that Rod Marsh has passed. He was a legend of our great game & an inspiration to so many young boys & girls. Rod cared deeply about cricket & gave so much-especially to Australia & England players. Sending lots & lots of love to Ros & the family. RIP mate❤️

Absolutely shocked to the core by this. My son did a masterclass session with him just a few weeks ago at BACA.

Just 5yrs older than me...I feel physically sick. Such horrible, tragic news.

Absolutely shocked. I saw the thread title and the first thought that crossed my mind was "wtf" followed by "is this a bad joke?". But no. What a terrible week for Aussie cricket.

All 10 beautiful deliveries, but I have to say that surely at least one of his flipper-LBW's needs to be included in the top 10. There was a period in his career where he absolutely tormented the South African's (Cullinan in particular, who became virtually unpickable against the Aussies while Warne played) with the flipper.
