Blackburn fans on twitter trying to convince themselves we paid 4.5m for him to make themselves feel better!

I presume Blackburn eventually agreed to the £500,000 add on, so we will have paid £4million up front (or maybe slightly less). Apologies if this is fixtures - Blackburn have signed Tommie Hoban on a season-long loan from Watford and a left back.

Not necessarily, we could have increased the add-on/s, we'll never know.

Interview up on player btw.

Andy Naylor is reporting that it's nowhere near that figure. I doubt that we paid anything like that amount up front either. There will be appearance clauses, promotion bonuses etc and four years to take into account.

Hope the Albion's goal bonus clause is more clearly explained to Duffy than it was to his fellow countryman The Hawk :moo:

Lot of money for a defender especially with two key defenders due back.Im sure he'll be a cracking signing though :)

If you think that we will go through the next 40 odd games with the same two central defenders you have gone a bit Perseus.

I would think that he was about £2.75m up front and the rest based on performance. I just hope that he is as good and serves us as well as the last centre back from that area, although he was from down the road in Bolton............ John Napier.

The last one I remember from that area was from Preston, and (even) better than JN!
