How can you compare sport which, by it’s nature, is unpredictable with buying a commodity? If you buy a shirt and it isn’t suitable you can take it back. The same with a restaurant meal (although I wouldn’t want to be upsetting the waiters too much). If your team loses, no matter how badly they play, there’s no refund.
But that does open up a possible commercial option for ticketing: £40 per ticket but you get it all back if we lose and half back if we draw. Who would be up for that?
