If it were up to me i would have them banned from every ground in the world. They shouldnt be involved with football at all, but have dinner on the table when we get in. Newell is only speaking what every normal person thinks. We go to football for a few pints, game and to get away from the missus for a bit. Mike Newell- I was there...

As a Luton born Brighton fan I attended the Luton QPR match thanks to my dad and was surprised to see the lineswoman subjected to Mr Buyrite's cave man tirade after the game.

Luton had two fair calls for pens, both discounted by Andy d'Urso who was closer to both incidents. Luton also conceded twice in two minutes from identical corner cock ups where the defence seemed unable to protect a rookie goalie thus throwing away an excellent come back from 1-0 to get back to 2-1.

There was no incident I could recall which you could question the competence of the lady lino. So this is more to do with a manager on the end of 5 consecutive defeats than a ludicrous war on political correctness.

He has also blasted his chairman for selling players, not giving him money for getting replacements and moving too slowly on a new stadium project! Is he by any chance related to Mark McGhee?

I happened to be at the Newell press conference yesterday, and it was one of the funniest things I've ever heard. .............. He really is football's Mr Angry, what with the bung stuff as well.


I think Newell's views are indefensible............Ironically, it overshadowed some equally inflammatory remarks about his own chairman in which he accused him of doing nothing for two years, having a secret agenda for being in charge, and accused the board of giving him "deceit and lies".

I read that last bit too and, together with the sexist outburst, this led me to the conclusion that actually he is just so stressed to buggery at the moment he doesn't really know what he's saying.

The question is though, why?

Twas watchin the local news earlier, there was a report on the incident, saying that today he has come out and apologised for offending anyone as a result of his remarks, but i think what he was saying is that hes still standing by his opinions.
