From the airport to the city just jump in a cab. I always get on a local bus in other Spanish city, but because of it's almost Venice like streets (often pedestrianised) the airport bus stop isn't that convenient.

I brought about ten tins of tuna back from Spain, always do.

Nothing new from me - but, to reiterate the need for booking the Alcazar ahead of time, catch a Flamenco show and get up early one morning before sunset and wander around Plaza de Espana entirely on your own (that was my favourite half-hour of the whole week...)

First thing you need to know is a little beer is called a caña (canya). That's generally what people go for. If you want a bigger one, ask for a cerveza grande.

Tapas near the cathedral:

Bodeguita Romero - have a pringá montadito (Little pork sandwich)
Casa Morales- one of the oldest bars in town
Abaceria del postigo- great for cheese

Near the Alameda-

Maquila- great craft beer place. Even if you're not a big beer fan, worth going for the food.
Eslava- a Seville institution. Be aware that tapas is served at the bar and outside tables. the back Is a full on restaurant.

Plaza Salvador- a must for a few afternoon beers. If you're peckish, grab a cone of the fried fish from the freiduría.

Alfalfa-

Sal Gorda- small, modern tapas place. More of a tapas-restaurant than a bar

Bar Alfalfa- often rammed. Good atmosphere. Ok food.

Triana- take a walk along the river on the Triana side but I wouldn't particularly recommend stopping to eat at one of the waterfront bars. As others have said, Triana market is worth a look.

Other modern tapas places (the kind where you'll sit down and have a meal rather than grab a beer and snack at the bar):

Zoko- great food. Specialise in tuna

La Azotea- they've got a few locations dotted around town. Locals would tell you the best one is on Calle Jesús del Gran Poder

I could keep going all day but I'll stop the bar recommendations there.

One more thing food wise though. Breakfast is generally a toasted baguette topped with ham (or other things). A lot of places dont advertise their breakfast options but if you see people eating toast, sit down and ask for a media con jamón.

Other than the sites mentioned by others, it's worth taking a bus to Italica if youre into Roman ruins. 30 minutes away and entry is free.

Also, take a walk up Calle Regina and Calle Feria after visiting Las Setas.

Had some ridiculously good food in Perro Viejo last time I was there. Highly recommended. More modern. Great ribs.

El Rinconcillo is basically a must isn't it?

Was there in June (very hot). Stayed Hotel America (very central) through booking.com which was fine. Alcazar is impressive but a bit too rambling for me. Far better was the Casa De Pilatos which is smaller but very quiet and with courtyards and gardens. If, like me, you're of a certain age, take your passport everywhere because there are usually discounts for OAPs (and students). If you go to the cathedral (monster queues) then go to the church El Salvador (just up the road) first where there are no queues and you can get a combined ticket with the cathedral which allows you to jump the queue there. The bell tower (Giralda) was shut for renovation when I was there. The contemporary arts centre (just over the river) is most impressive but you have to leave the cool of the shaded streets in the city centre and venture into the sun (shouldn't be too bad in March).

I found the Plaza De Espana too much of a rococo concoction with a dreadful military museum, but the archaeological museum the other side of the park is well worth a visit.

Try the American bar in hotel Alfonso. Great for cocktails. Almeda is always good for drinking at night.
