It's pretty much been ignored in most of the history books that Phil Collins invented Punk Rock.

He also held the land speed record for a few weeks after going well quick at Coniston at some point.
This record was swiftly broken though by the Beverley Sisters in their revolutionary 'Swankmaster' car.

It's also a little known fact that he put together the Sex Pistols before realising that he plain and simply didn't have the time or patience to deal with Glen Medeiros's wild mood swings and raving alcoholism (he was drinking 4 cans of top deck a day at his worst!!). It was then he passed them over them to Steve MacClaren to manage. The rest they say is history!

Sorry, I guess it was artistic license. Mind you how can you dislike bands like Green Day and the Killers. I'd be the first to say that I think The Strokes are overrated but that's just my opinion and not a very popular one either. Seeing as the US is such a large and diverse place I can't see how you can be so anti American music. Where did Rock 'n Roll, Jazz, the Blues and so on start ?

I missed the first 15 minutes of this due to a user interface error setting the timer on the video. Did they mention the fact it was Iggy and Stooges who first inspired The Ramones into the music business (as explained in End of the Century), and as the Clash and the Pistols were inspired by the Ramones, Iggy could justifiably lay claim to being the "first"?
