Fans of most teams think they are terrible at set pieces. I agree we seem to have been below average, but it would be interesting to see the stats that back it up.

One set piece we HAVEN'T been terrible at is penalties - certainly not with Ali Mac and Pedro.
16th last season with 8 (excludes pens): https://www.90min.com/posts/premier-league-teams-most-goals-set-pieces-2023-24-ranked. Subtracting set piece League position from actual position places Albion in 18th with -5 (finished 11th, set piece position 16th) ahead of Man U -7 (8,15) and Palace (10, 20).

Stand outs were Luton +14 (18,4) who scored 14 set piece goals, 25% of their total GS, and Everton +13 (2,15) with 18. Everton scored only 22 goals from open play, 7 fewer than Sheff U.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

Lovely corner we scored from in that friendly. Great delivery.

The reaction of Jonas Scheuermann, after Sarmiento scored, and the knowing look Andrew Crofts gave him, makes me think that it was something they had been working on in training.

Milner's first two corners were shocking though. Both only just reached the first defender who cleared them easily.

But we want a specialist yeh?

Fab can't get bogged down in where people are moving to for a long throw.

By the way, if that is how we're going to play, hurling in to the near post, it will have been a good while since we've seen that!

It is a Brighton tradition innit, Eddie Spearritt

And I have to add that I think Barco hits a brilliant flat corner

hope either gruda or o’riley are semi-decent at corners because it would simply be unconscionable to carry on like this having sold groß and gilmour

That ginger lad, who played left back looked good on corners. But we have an embarrassment of riches in that area so shipped him out before giving him any real game time

What, this guy?

"Monday’s edition of Diario de Sevilla says the Brighton owned player and Pedrosa haven’t been convincing yet.

Pedrosa has made five league appearances, while the Argentina U21 international has been limited to only one start for Sevilla. They have one win from six league games this season.
The newspaper states Sevilla manager García Pimienta has several problems, but the left-back one needs to be resolved soon. They have conceded eight goals and five of them originated from the opposition’s right side.

Pimienta replaced Pedrosa with the Brighton man against Girona, and his side suffered a 2-0 loss. Diario de Sevilla even blamed the South American for the first goal."
