[Albion] Seriously ???? Lamptey to Wolves on loan?

scooter1

How soon is now?
More: Lamptey promised more minutes, but not being given them due to league form. Told he will play in cup and to be ready for sub minutes - refused to play.

Gist is “came here for minutes, not long term bench”
If that is true it’s very short sighted of Lamptey. We nursed him through a serious long term injury, it’s now up to him to earn and keep his place. It’s no longer just about the first 11, its a squad

Could this be the remnants of a Chelsea mentality of Charlie Big Bollox, coming to a #smallteam I wonder ?
It is rather disappointing if true, but that I guess is what happens when you arrive and suddenly are the golden child, only to slip down the pecking order if you get injured, where is the fight though !

What a joke if this is true.We will have our youth team playing soon.
Have a little faith. The way you bang on it's like we are bottom of division 4, twelve points adrift of Hereford, and about to have our stadium sold by a moneyman. I bet you're fun at parties.

When has he refused to play?

He started the Charlton and Boro cup games, and Arsenal in the league. Sub appearances in all the other games since the restart after the WC. I have no doubts he wants to be on the pitch more, you want that hunger in your players, but I don't see any evidence that he's refusing to play at all.

Unfortunately since his injury, Lamptey simply has not looked good enough to get in our team. Technically he looks behind the other players. He needs to learn his position again as has to play it differently now to how he did pre his injury as he’s undoubtedly lost some of that incredible pace he had.

I think he really could do with a regular run of games to learn his role again and I can’t see him getting that with us so maybe a loan now is the best solution before he falls further behind the rest of the squad.

Sadly I agree. I have lost any expectation of him doing anything special when he's on the pitch. I hope that injury hasn't ruined him, but it may have... :(

Probably on my own here but think a loan could work out well for both parties.

He gets regular game time in the Premier League and we hopefully get the benefit of a Tariq Lamptey that potentially gets back to the levels he was at before his injury.

Crazy to think we are allegedly going to loan a Premier league standard player to another Premier League rival, because he can't get game time here...

How far we have come eh, to believe we can loan him to a rival and not feel threatened by it.

And how reliable is the source for this? Isn't NSC in danger of making this up?

My ITK says a bust up has occurred. RDZ not involved and very angry because he rates Lamptey as #2 to Veltman (who was rotated with Groß last week for tactical reasons).

Now who the bust up is between I have no idea, but time will tell if it is related to today’s selection.

In short, this has legs.

Mates with Tross?

Hard one for TL. He left Chelsea to get game time as he wasn't good enough to break into the starting XI.

When he came here he was brilliant and became a starter.

Now possibly a combination of his injury, our squad improvement and change of style, he finds himself in the same position.

Now we're not relegation fodder in a strange way it does suit us to strengthen a relegation team that could possibly take points off those around us. Wolves are a decent side imo.

From a wolves perspective you see a good player not getting minutes even if it's not likely to happen why wouldn't you put in a tentative loan enquiry?

Did well when he had confidence that if he bombed forward and got caught he had White & Biss behind him with the pace to cover for him. Maybe lost a bit of confidence and certainly lost pace as a result of the injury.

Surely we know what it’s like ourselves in our places of work. New leader comes in and and we go through our own shock, anger, rejection etc. Nothing new if it’s true.

This is slightly concerning that we have another bust up, is all well in Camp Lancing, or are divisions starting to appear.
This could prove costly in terms of team cohesion and could make certain players become unhappy in their workplace, and starting looking elsewhere to ply their trade.

I thought we were a happy cohesive unit.
